1. I don't think so. The limitation on transferring contacts seem to be within the phone, The Treo 800 does not offer the ability to transfer contacts via blue tooth it only supports sending contacts vi the infrared beam
2. It's about time another update was released, i've been waiting on this for a while.....
3. Did the jetware software allow you to push the contacts over using blue tooth? If not, what method did you use to transfer the contacts from the 800w?
4. If you are referring to the speaker/microphone on the Z, it's fine. Mine sounds good on both ends, now the speakerphone on the Treo 800w itself is a different story. The 800w speakerphone sounds horrible...sounds like the speaker is busted from too much bass going through it even though that is not the case. I think better audio software would resolve some of the issue so hopefully Palm will improve it.
5. I'll 2nd this, calling works perfectly but unfortunately the handset does not support sending contacts via Bluetooth.
6. I have the Sprint Treo 800w and it works well with my Z1 (upgraded to Z3). Unfortunatley the 800w does not offer transfer of contacts via Bluetooth so I was very disappointed at that.
7. Check this out... I placed my order to Garret 2mey (love that abbreviation) via paypal on yesterday August 6 and got the payment confirmation email at 4:45 PM. My hard drive was delivered today August 7 at 11:11AM. That's 19Hr from order to delivery and NO I DID NOT PAY FOR OVERNIGHT SHIPMENT! Talk about service Needless to say that I can't wait to get home from work to install it...
8. I agree Aviator, 5 weeks doesn't sound reasonable to me....
9. I don't think many others have had to use their extended warranty plan and they're probably wishing they had kept that $$$ in their pocket.

Editing Gracenote

Nope, not that i'm aware of and we should not have to. Pioneer needs to step up to the plate and issue another update.
11. Yeah its the same but the most recent Gracenote update is almost 9 months old.....
12. I agree, it's been waaaaaay to long since Pioneer released a Gracenote update. Personaly, if they released an update every month that would not be often enough for me. I'll update my Z1 just like i update the virus definitions on my PC. Whatever it takes to have the latest and greatest is fine with me.....as long as it's FREE.
13. Thanks for the explanations, it's appreciated.
14. Can someone tell me what "Point Addressing" is? The comparison shows the Z1 does not have this function.
15. Apparently they're only testing the website because it's not there anymore.....
16. uhh...I think you are trying to be a smart ass. If you know the Z1 then you should know that if you can't dial from the head unit, it's because the Bluetooth has lost connection which automaticly disables the functionality which makes his problem the same.
17. I have a Sprint Treo 650 and I have the exact same problem. The issue with mine is that the phone will not stay connected to the Z1. When I dial from the Treo it connects almost instantly, but when the call is terminated it disconnects from the Z1 which disables the dialing function on the head unit. Hopefully someone on here knows a resolution.......
18. What's this guy's problem? The post doesn't ask anything about comments on your lil D1....... Get a life, or at least some updated technology
19. Yes, they do custom work. There is a link on the website that refers to custom work or you can call them directly. If you explain to them that the N3 is a popular model that they could add to their order list, they might wave the additional charge for the initial custom order.
20.
I’m willing to mail them a letter. In working with other tech companies and being part of discussion forums I found taking polls in the forum and deciding as group which items are the most important to the group, helped. Coming up with a top 10 list of important issues, seems to be received well, instead of overwhelming list that is not prioritized. After reading the list and the forum we could even have two top 10 lists. One list of USABILITY ISSUES (items that should have been in the Z1 since day one) and one list of NEW FEATURES wanted. This has worked so w
21.
what do you mean by "pioneer won't allow them to touch the Z1" why? if he's buying from an unauthorized dealer, isn't the warranty already void?
There are only 2 authorized locations that can repair the AVIC-Z1: Columbus, OH and Long Beach, CA. As far as the thing about the unauthorized dealer, personally I don't know. I am just commenting on what I know about this 3rd party warranty stuff. It aint worth it.....
22.
So are we basically saying that we should buy retail only?
No, I am suggesting that the 3rd party warranties are a scam and you will be very disappointed when it's time to use them. The 1 year Pioneer warranty is cool, it's handled directly through Pioneer(the manufacturer). After that you'll have to go through a maze of inconveniences to get any service/repairs. Everyone is under the impression that they will be able to drop their head unit off at the nearest repair center and it won't be that easy. Since 99% of them are not authorized to repair
23.
Well, Lil Red, I know at least a half-dozen people and myself who have dealt with the company that issued my service plan; Mack Camera. May sound strange they are called camera, but they do all types of electronic repairs as well as cameras. Yes, if something happens I will have to pay postage to MACK, it may take a week, but I have faith since they did me real well with a Nikon F5 repair and even gave me a free full cleaning. I know other people who have used them, and all reports have been excellent. So, does it bother me I would be without a radio for a week? Ye
24. ...until one of you guys have an issue with your Z1 and you start posting your sad story's about how you "Just found out" that you have to ship your Z1 off at your own exspense because there is only "2" authorized repair centers in the US that services the Z1. Then you'll be sobbing even more because they are going to tell you that "YOU" have to pay for the repair and rely on your 3rd party warranty company to reimburse you. Oh, you're going to really be crying now. By this time you're at a crossroad, Do I come out of my pocket to pay for this repair and "trust" that my 3rd party warranty c
25.
Okay! Here is my dilema. I had my AVIC-Z1 installed with the Pioneer Bluetooth ND-BT1. When I use my Sprint Treo 650 (PDA) smartphone, it doesn't seem to work. The ND-BT1 will find the Treo and then 30 seconds later it's disconnected. But if I use other bluetooth phones, it works fine. Did anyone else have a similar experience. Thanx in advance.
You might try backing up all of your phone/PDA data and then do a hard reset on your phone. Also, make sure that you have the latest software on your Treo. If you take it to the Sprint store they should be abl
