  1. i believe the 940 uses a resistive style screen which isnt that great in sunlight.
  2. its not worth it. You have to get a lighting to 30pin adapter and then the special cable from pioneer. i just installed the asteroid parrot smart and i use the cable that came with my iphone. stream the internet via bluetooth. But i've wanted to use google navigation for awhile anyway.... at least im always up to date now..
  3. Selling my x940. Just picked up the new parrot asteroid smart.... im going to develop for that system.
  4. and now pioneer updates every other receiver besides the x940 for iphone 5. feeling gyped.
  5. im sorry i worded this wrong..... I now own an actual 940. (i used to have a 920) is there an update out for the 940's bluetooth?
  6. okay just upgraded from my 920 to the 940... the radio sees the phone in registration. the phone sees the radio in bluetooth settings... no connections can be made.... what gives?
  7. Thanks! Much cheaper then what I thought!
  8. So I have done the worst thing ever and cracked my screen. I mean you can still read everything the only part that cracked was the actual touch part. Anyone know where I can send this, or where I can find a part to fix this myself? Or is all hope lost on my investment and should I just get the appradio.
  9. worked perfect for me. hopefully the same method will work on the x940 update...
  10. only works with ipod/iphone or a DVR disc.
  11. the other i made for myself:
  12. OMFG ANDROID SUPPORT!!! Sorry for the all caps, but im so happy finally. Now update my 920 for android support!
  13. i have a viper system in my car. nuff said. lol
  14. Because i would rather use google maps and navigation over pioneers built in.
  15. So we can beat them up for developing horrible software Thanks for the hardwork so far. Its much appreciated! I'm going to try this on my x920 soon. I also dabble into SW dev (usually for servers) but im going to take a look at this.
  16. I'm hoping my htc already has a radio that can be upgraded via software update.
  17. It really all depends on what your looking for. I'm very saddened by the lack of support Pioneer is offering on their navigation units. I started with a 910 and upgraded to the 920 (for the bluetooth audio) and really miss being able to mod into the 910. I would be happy if they released either new maps or unlocked the bootloader. Now on to your Question. Personally i have never used a JVC and by the looks of the model, it just seems outdated in a sense. If your wanting a unit with exceptional GPS and an IPOD intereface then you should really take look at the Sony XNV-770BT. Great i
  18. i didnt see this one posted either. Japan only unit for now.
  19. i'd still rather have my x920bt fixed.
  20. http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/25/pioneer-appradio-hands-on I'm saying how about a x920bt gps fix. or google maps. geesh. lol
  21. glad your your install went great! i too now own a x920bt and havent had any problems with it.... just waiting on the new update! lol
  22. i have that same problem....
  23. from my knowledge there is no difference. just a different revision of the cable. and x920bt will be able to do apps.
