  1. did we ever get confirmation from "rage" that his june z2 that you got the image from, did in fact bypass?
  2. During my first long trip with my Z2 and XM (w/navtraffic) yesturday, I was listening to my library, and decided to switch over to xm. Well it said 'no signal'? went back to the map, and the navtraffic said it had no signal as well. I thought maybe a blown fuse, but the xm icon wasnt greyed out, and would act like it wanted to work, showed ESPN logo and all, just no signal. then I thought the antenna might have gotten messed up, so when I stopped for fuel I checked the antenna and wire, no apparent frays or problems. so I went on about my trip, with no XM. it was dark when I got
  3. This is so strange, how it will effect some drives and not seem to on others. Mine is a may '07 build date, and it has started up everytime even in 100+ degree days after sitting in the sun all day. everytime I get in my hot truck I worry about it, because of this board. especially since my truck is a diesel, so the unit starts booting for a few seconds, then gets cut off while the truck starts after the glow plugs are heated.
  4. what he is saying is that you have to have your pictures in a folder title "pictures" then you also have to make a junk folder, full of a bunch of other "junk". just make sure it doesnt have any audio files, and that the total disk space used ends up over 100MB. this is all in your instructions, so I am sure you did this part correctly. the other thing that caused me problems, was using the windows software to burn the disk. for some reason the avics dont like windows burning software. I downloaded a free trial of Nero, and it worked first try.
  5. WOW, I cant believe they told you that. I have now had mine (Treo 755P) connected for a week worth of driving, which is over 600 miles for me, and it hasnt missed a beat.
  6. thats not true, my 755P works flawlessly
  7. If your antenna is picking up any signal in the garage, you are living in an area where there are terrestrial repeaters. this would make me think it would work on the dash, but probably with still the weak signal, that may dissapear periodically as you drive around. I have personally never had any problems with the magnet holding any of the three on the top of my truck. even after going through a couple of car washes with brushes they only got pushed around a bit.
  8. you can also access your account on sirius.com and re-send the signal from there.

    Avic-Z2

and what would this bypass be??
  10. I have the Treo 755P and it connects to my new Z2 very well. Fully transferred all my contacts at once. and have had no dropped connections at all with about 4 hours of drive time while connected.
  11. I just used the "ZWINBACK" code on to activate mine. I am new user, told her I didnt really know what the code was for, just that the store I bought the unit from told me to use it for a discount subscription. She put me on hold for a few seconds, came back and said it was for half off a year ~$77 dollars. added the nav-traffic for 40 something for the year. and I am a happy camper.
  12. I honestly would have probably never noticed it did that, now it bugs me, thanks
  13. If anybody is still updating this list, you can add the Palm Treo 755P with Sprint service to the list. it pairs easily and supported the full transfer of my contacts all at once on my new Z2

    got my z2

Just got done gettin her installed. I dont guess the parking break message will be all that annoying, so long as I can change stuff sitting at stop lights, without setting the parking break. This thing is awesome, makes me go out and just drive around aimlesly, but for $3 a gallon, I may have to limit myself. I am gunna sit and read some of the instruction manual to figure out some stuff, then go play.
  15. well JWQ, did it do anything to your bypass?? I am assuming you did this update to a Z1.

    got my z2

and its a May 07 date.... I am working on the wiring right now..... will it hurt anything to try the two wire bypass, and maybe leave it hooked like that even if it doesnt work?
  17. I am seriously pounding my head on my desk waiting for the UPS man to get here.
  18. I believe the original Z1's werent bypassable at first, untill someone figured out the headlight flasher. Then somewhere along the line, the bluetooth update from Pioneer "magically" made the early ones bypassable just like the couple of month newer build date ones. I would guess that Pioneer will tag the bypassablility onto some update that will come out soon, be it the gracenotes, or map updates for the Z1. It all makes me wonder if there is some watchdog group or somesuch, that checks the new units that come from pioneer to make sure that they arnt able to play video, and Pioneer h
  19. Greet the delivery guy with a hug and a kiss. You will have a friend forever if he looks anything like your avatar, I will be sure and do that.
  20. My Z2 is "out for delivery" this morning, according to the UPS tracking. I am pumped. Should keep me fairly busy this weekend getting this puppy installed. (ohh how I hope for a June build date, but I doubt I will be that lucky) any last minute advice???
  21. Just bought one off e-bay for $17 including $12 for shipping. Its a nice one too, it has AM & FM.
  22. To all those that were around last year, was there near this much bitching about having not found a bypass for the Z1 yet? Wow, I have never heard so many grown people cry. Just calm down people, the bypass will come, I am sure of it, just give it time. I just wish I knew more about computers and such so that I could help in some way shape or form. But if I just sit here and thowing out post after post bitching about it, I bet that aint gunna make it come any faster.
  23. I actually have searched on there, but all I find is whole units that are working. I would hate to tear into a perfectly good radio. maybe I am just using the wrong search words?
