thats the problem your vss wire is not hooked up correctly.

the navigation just was not as accurate without the vss wire attached. it still worked but just not as good !

hi yes the hardware is the same you can just use your z1 wireing harnness and everything else.. good luck !

sounds like maybe the power to the siruis tunner is loose... because if it dosent have power then that opition would show up.. i would double check all the connections. good luck

i had a siruis unit stay stuck on aquiring siginal... siruis decided it was a bad siuris unit and replaced it.

i found it press and hold map button at boot up

is their a way to completely restore the z1 back to the way it was new? i know their is a reset on the front and a restore factory option in the menu.. but i was wondering if their was a reset that deleted all the songs on the harddrive and navagation address and phone numbers..? thanks for the help!

hi i was thinking of getting a z2 i was wondering if the wiring harnness of the z2 was the same as the z1 . that way i could just replace the unit with the z2 without having to rewire everything to the new harnness. and put my z1 one in my wifes car with the z2 harnness .. would that work.....thanks alote !

he means ground the outside(barrel) part of the rcas comming out of your z2 to the metal outside case of the z2 that should help your alternator wine.. also make sure all your grounds are good .. and try to use the same one if possiable.. here is a good articale on noise hope it helps .. check it out.: http://www.termpro.com/articles/noise.html

thanks for the info..how does it work when the sun is shinning on it? i had a different camera that when the sun hit it would mess the picture up with bright colors and you couldnt see anything.

But you will only be able to pick up the satellite signals. You cannot pick up Sirius repeaters with an XM antenna, and cannot pick up XM repeaters with a Sirius antenna. good info i didnt know that !

yeah you can use a xm antenna for siruis . i did worked great ! i sure wish the siruis interface looked like the xm one does.. much better display... im hoping if they merge they will improve it !
