  1. It is indeed. In fact, the the iPod starts playing almost immediately even while it's booting everything up. I was very impressed with that. The gps acquires signal really fast. I've never experienced any problem (much better than the GPS on my BB 8800, all though it is very good but slow).
  2. Once the NAV boots up, it's rather fast. Less than 20 seconds. The longest time is when it's first booting up. Takes around 30 seconds.
  3. Oh man, not this one again! We tore through a whole thread talking about ways to do this (that and adding RAM?). I think it came down to just not being possible until someone can hack that OS it's running on. :/

    mp3 dvd?

    1. Burn mp3's to DVD 2. Put DVD into HU that supports MP3 DVD's
  5. The VSS wire is used to determine your exact speed. The GPS can use satellites to calculate your speed and it works pretty well, but sometimes it can be off. By using the VSS, the GPS is able to show your location more acurately. I don't use the VSS wire and it works just fine.
  6. Don't use DVD Decryptor. It's meant for movies, not data. Use a real ISO program and a real burning program.
  7. I used UltraISO to make an image. Then I used Nero to burn that image. Worked fine on memorex DL using an HP DL burner. Check the error on the burn. I bet it's because of the DL split. When you try to make an image using something that's meant for movies, it can sometimes mess up.
  8. These are replacement discs for the ones that come with the D3. These are not updated maps.
  9. I can do it. Send me your ideas and requirements via private message and I'll make you something.
  10. Each one should come with an IPBus cable. You'll daisy chain them. One cable from the D3 to the Sirius and then one to the bluetooth module, or vice versa. Each one has an input and an output so you can chain them together. Just match the colors of the cables starting at the D3.
  11. I thought it paused it... I'll have to check for ya to be sure.
  12. He must not be talking about a D3. It's got more functionality than any other Pioneer HU out there.
  13. 1. It can only connect to one phone at a time. 2. The BTB200 can connect to any phone in the car that has bluetooth. If you have multiple phones saved in the list, it will connect to the first one it finds.
  14. dspiel is right. You can definitely do that. If the factory harness has a ground wire, then it's usually perfectly fine to tap into that cable. In fact, that's what I did.
  15. It shouldn't start back up. Once it has power, it should keep power until your keys turn back past the ACC. You might want to check your wiring.

    D3 Map & Movie

When you remove the Nav DVD, it goes into memory mode. It will cache surrounding map info and display that, without the DVD in there. If you plot a route before taking it out, it will cache that.
  17. It will still give you the nag screen, but it will work while moving.
  18. Hmm.. I would make sure the ground on your mute wire is good. It sounds like the parking brake wire is grounded ok so maybe you can just tap into that.
  19. DVD+R or DVD-R? I played a copy of The Punisher on mine just fine using DVD+R Sony
  20. The proper way to bypass is found in my sig. You will not lose any muting function. If you have an external unit that still needs to mute the radio (such as factory mute controls or a Parrot system), you can buy another wire with pin and insert that into the original Mute wire slot. Then tap into it as usual. The bypass will still work and you can use the mute on your external device.
  21. Tips: 1. Practice soldering (if you've never soldered wires before). 2. Definitely get heatshrink tubing. 3. Be sure you know which illumination wire to use. Some cars vary 4. Go ahead and make backup copies of your Nav discs (if you have a DL burner)
  22. Answered in your other thread. Yes, you can copy them.

    D3 DISC COPY

It shouldn't be the disc, but yes, you can copy the discs just fine. Just use something like Nero to make a copy.
  24. It looks like a fountain so it could be a park.
