  1. This basically is the AVN headunit for the person that wants all of the features, but also cares about SQ. It's a competitor to the IVA-W505 with Imprint kit. If you don't care about that much built-in processing go with the 7140 and you'll have nearly the same feature set.

Yes, it can be done, but it requires a fairly extensive modification. Do a search for image.res. It can not be done through the Pioneer UI as with the Z Series.
  3. 720 is high resolution, so it's no surprise that it takes that long to encode a full length movie. The F-Series has a QVGA screen (800x480), which is standard resolution. Anything higher than that will be lost, so there's no reason to encode that high. Honestly, I've experimented with a lot of different settings and found the presets work the best for iPod or iPhone/Touch use (select them from the tray that slides out to the right side).
  4. So this is a software only update with no hardware changes? I'm not sure I believe that.
  5. It will be, it's basically the 8120 on steroids.
  6. Most of the people that are actively involved in modifying the F-Series are posting their updates regularly. Perhaps a better approach would be to ask for help in making the modifications you're looking for instead of just requesting that someone do them for you. Then you'll have the knowledge and skill to make changes on your own so you can give back to the community. $0.02
  7. Handbrake with the correct resolution and bitrate for my playback source (iPod or iPhone) works fine for me. The F-Series really doesn't have the hardware to playback videos well, which is why a lot of people encounter problems. Really Pioneer should have either pulled video playback from the feature list, or upped the hardware specs.
  8. If you do replace the cable, use Apple's Composite A/V cable kit. It's much higher quality than the POS that Pioneer supplies, and it is the same price.
  9. Try installing a new copy of data.zip (it is distributed with the firmware update from Pioneer). If that doesn't fix the problem, send it back to Pioneer for warranty.
  10. First of all, this is a troubleshooting question, and as such should be posted in that forum. Next, we need to know what device you have paired if we have any chance of helping you. Have you tried pairing another device? If so, what happened? If not, do that first.
  11. I've created a new thread for an official listing of compatible phones that I will maintain. F-Series Bluetooth Phone Compatibility List Please DO NOT post in this thread with the functionality of your phone, post in the thread linked above.

  14. The idea of this thread is to compile a complete list of bluetooth phone compatibility with the F-Series. How it works Post a reply with the following information and it will be added to the compiled list by a moderator. 15. Perfect, I think that makes is easier for people to ask questions and get answers once a working version of the modification is complete. I'll link to it in the FAQ.
  16. Download Gimp and start playing around and you'll be able to do it yourself.
  17. Actually we're not, but when the same question gets asked 15 times a day, even the answer is at the top of every forum and says READ THIS BEFORE POSTING, we tend to get a little frustrated. Don't be discouraged, but please do read the FAQ topic before posting to see if your answer is there; it's faster than waiting for someone to answer, and it saves you from disgruntled replies like the ones in this thread.
  18. Something isn't connected correctly then. Does your F-Series stay on even with the key off, or is it turning off when you pull the key out of the ignition?
  19. Nice work! Would you mind either editing your first post (preferred) or starting a new thread with patch instructions? Then I'll post it in the FAQ,
  20. Mine did that the very first time I tried to boot into Test Mode (way back in August). Ever since then it's been fine though and I haven't had any problems. I'm not sure what to tell you other than to reformat your SD card and try again.
  21. It's a bug in the system, and unless Pioneer offers a software update with a fix, we'll just have to live with it.
  22. Please read the FAQ before posting. Locked.
