  1. You made a mistake somewhere in the edits you performed. Restore your file system with the backup you made.
  2. Find one locally to spend enough time with to really get a feel for it. If this is your first aftermarket headunit (let along nav system) the wow factor my inhibit your decision making. Once the newness wares off you may not be that happy with your decision. Consider a Kenwood DNX6140 or Alpine IVA-W203.
  3. It's not instant, but it only takes a few seconds.
  4. Take a number; A LOT of people are disappointed with the F-Series. Primarily it tends to be people that have owned other navigation systems, but not always.
  5. What if you fabricated a new panel where the OEM camera is installed that was angled down. The camera could be flush with it, and it would look factory if you textured and painted it to match.
  6. Welcome to the site. You posted this in the wrong section so I'm going to move it for you. Please turn off your caps lock and do a search before posting new threads. Thanks!
  7. Fail. Look in the FAQ (linked in my sig), do a search and turn off your caps lock.
  8. Yep, this is related solely to their TV manufacturing and sales. They're doing it because that market has become largely price sensitive, and they want to focus on audio.
  9. Double check your constant 12v connection (it's the yellow wire in the harness). If that's hooked up right, send it back for warranty.
  10. Have you performed any software modifications?
  11. In terms of hardware, the only difference between the 2G and the 3G is the addition of AGPS and a 3G cell radio. 3G stands for third generation, and is the most recent GSM network standard to be employed in the US. It supports theoretical downstream speeds of up to 14.4 MBps. That means when using the cell network for data transmission the 3G phone will be faster loading pages than the 2G. Take a look at , about 1 minute in to see a comparison. Rendering times when connected to wifi are unchanged, so unless you spend a lot of time consuming data on the cell network, you won't notice m
  12. Keep your 2G! I upgraded to the 3G when it came out, and wish I could go back to my original version. Sure, the internet is a little faster, and it's nice to have GPS built in every once in a while, but the phone part of it (as in iPhone) sucks! The 3G service is terrible, and at least 50% of my calls are dropped.
  13. The F-Series does not support multi-zone though, so whatever source is playing is what everyone in the car will be listening to. That means it's not possible to send the audio from the DVD to wireless headphones for the kids while listening to another audio source on the car speakers. That's a pretty big problem for most people that don't want to listen to Dora the Explorer with their kids.
  14. Don't use the parametric EQ for this. If your speakers are running on deck power go to A/V settings, and set the low-pass filter to it's highest setting. That will filter out low frequencies that are going to your speakers, but will not effect the sub preouts. If you're using an amp for your speakers, set the low-pass filter using the amps onboard crossover network.
  15. I wouldn't hold your breath. I too am experiencing multiple issues with my unit that I wish Pioneer would address.
  16. Actually, most navigation systems do track up in 2D, and some do north up. The F-Series is the exact opposite, with north up being the only option. Don't ask why, just another one of the ridiculous "features" Pioneer and iGo developed.
  17. I could care less about having to look at them on the map, it's the functionality change when they're active that pisses me off.
  18. Nice work, thanks for making this happen. I'm going to add it to the FAQ. There is a lot of interesting info in there, hopefully it will prove beneficial.
  19. Read the FAQ, it's all compiled there. You can just do the software mod, but unless your installer connects the parking brake lead to the car's parking break circuit AND you apply the parking brake, you won't have the unlocked functionality. Now you could have your installer ground the parking brake lead, and then let them take the vehicle out on the road to confirm that it is still locked. Then when you get home perform the software bypass and you would be good to go. I'm not sure if they would go for that though.
  20. I hate those crosshairs. I think there's probably a way to get rid of them in the map UI, since I've never used them.
  21. That's close, but you have some of the order backwards. I'm not going to go into detail because it's all spelled out in easy to follow steps in the FAQ (look down). FWIW, I would just do the hardware bypass since you're going to need to ground the parking brake lead anyway with the software bypass.
