1. It probably is but I would meter it out to make sure.
  2.
edrock, can you tell me where to find my illum. wire? 2006 FORD EXPLORER thanks!
Blue/Red in the factory harness. It might be pulsed so if you are not using a TR7 or ducatiboy bypass and this wire doesn't work for you you can also use the parking light wire: Blue/White in Drivers Kick Panel or SBJ Connector A. The SBJ (Smart Junction Box) is part of a Fuse/Relay box under the drivers side dash.

  4.
*** Disregard all my previous amp questions *** If I could learn to read I'd be better off. Since you went through what I'm about to - what wiring harness did you buy? I'm not going the external amp option since I won't need it for the Z1. Thanks for not flaming the noob. -j
No worries. I responded to your PM with the link, I don't have it on me right now or I'd post it again. Feel free to post in this thread with any questions. I posted pics in the "post your pics" thread.
  5.

Guys any1 mount it under the front dash? Im getting mine installed soon and the installer says that both XM and GPS will be fine underneath the front dash.
That's news to me. I have never had either antenna work properly mounted under the dash of any car. They need at least a line of site to the sky to work, be it through a window or outside. I'd seriously think about getting it installed somewhere else. Sounds like the installer is trying to be lazy
I have TWO vehicles with XM antennas under the d
  6. I have mine set to come out all the way and it does not rattle. Make sure the top of the unit isn't hitting your factory trim.
  7.
Hey all, another stupoid question? There is an optional guide speaker qhich can be attached, another one of those (sold seperately) items. I was under the impression and correct me if i am wrong! That if you get a phone call the audio should mute or lower to allow you to hear the phone call, and continue on talking! Also will the audio mute when directions are given from the nav. Doesn't this all happen in the same existing car radio speakers? Why would i buy a guide speaker? Help! any comments or knoledge on this to shed some light please!
So
  8. Here's my update.... I know I'm gonna be called a Pioneer fan-boy for this but I still REALLY love this unit. Here's what I did: Bought a Magellan 860T Navigation was OK but it would lock up and occassionally in the middle of a route it would tell me "no route to destination" and cancel the route, it also has TDS (sp?) traffic info which was useless, never told me anything...so I returned it and bought a Garmin 2730 because it does XM traffic routing plus XM radio and it can play music and nav at the same time unlike the Magellan. The unit works well enough but it is constant
  9.
EDROCK I'm buying an 02 Seq Ltd with the JBL setup. I was looking at the factory NAV unit - www.oemvalue.com - but didn't like the prices on the iPod control and the lack of bluetooth. I know I have to get the JBL Amp - is there anything else you did that I should be looking at?
Not sure what you mean by "I have to get the JBL amp." I didn't have to buy any special amp...Theres two wiring harnesses for the 02 sequoia, get the one that consists of two harnesses, one of which has RCA's on it, not the one thats all wires
  10.
I just got my Z1 installed last week in a BMW M3 I have the Pacs steering wheel controls, there is a button on my steering wheel which I thought was for voice command but when I price it, "ATT" comes up on the screen and it significantly reduces the volume. So it can be done. I had the unit prof. installed so I don't know how it was done.
ATT is on my full remote but I can't get anything on the full remote to work yet.
  11. Anyone have the full z1 remote? Not the steering wheel or rear seat remote but the full 30+ button remote? I got mine but I can't get it to work. Is there some trick to it?
  12. The option to have the playing source (dvd, ipod, etc) pause when the nav voice or bluetooth kicks in.
  13.
You also need to make sure that if you are using the data cable and the IP Bus cable, that you DO NOT hook up the red (switched power) wire of the XM module. Leave that taped off and hook up the yellow (constant power) only. One last thing...call XM and have them check your account. There phone bank is in India or Jacarta or something like that. They don't always understand English that well and may have screwed up your order so you aren't recieving XM radio...
After I read this I reread my manual and noticed this note on an addendum in my manual. 16.
And how about a "reroute" button. Whenever I go off-route, it seems desparate to get me back to the route rather than to my destination. Maybe even just an "Avoid U-Turns" option.
Thats odd, my unit reroutes almost immediately.
  17. I'm really happy with the unit, these are just nag items, but not a deal breaker by any means: Quick disconnect button on screen for bluetooth, ie touch the phone icon in the upper right hand corner to disconnect bluetooth Attenuate or mute button on screen When it asks if you want to reroute durring traffic have the mic be active for 5 seconds so you can say yes or no Ability to add POI's with proximity alarms - my Magellan let me download all the red light cameras as POI and it will warn me when I am aproaching one copy mp3's to HD Faster/better ipod navi A
  18.
I just took a button on my steering wheel that we never use (mem or media...can't remember) and programmed it to mute on the SWI. Works great...and something that should have been done from the factory.
Wheres the mute button that you programmed from?

    Z1 play DVD Audio?

Also, unless something has changed, it has not been confirmed whether or not the add-on 6-dvd changer (XDV-P6) will be able to play MP3's off of DVD's. 20.

It will not record MP3 files or music from CD-Rs or CD-RW.
this part makes it sound like as long as its not from a r or rw that i will record but i wouldnt know of what other types of media there could be anyways.
OK correction, an MP3 data disc on any medium cannot be copied to the hard drive, only CDDA audio CD's.
  21.
I am a little "slow" with all this. but in plain english, if i have songs downloaded on my computer from I tunes and then burn em on a cd will i be able to store them in my hard drive?
Depends on how you burn 'em. As long as you burn them as a plain old audio CD then yes, you can rip it to your hard drive.
  22. If you google RAZR hacking I'm sure you can find a way to enable this. Theres lots of hacker support for the RAZR line.
  23. Have you tried creating an at3 and putting it on the Z1?
