  1. Some people have succeeded by disconnecting the unit from the main power (ie. disconnect car battery) for about 30 minutes. Apparently this somehow reset the unit. Have you tried that? I don't know what's the file structure on the SD card provided by Pioneer, but I believe it should be a simple copy. Instead of using the Pioneer updater, are you able to manually copy the files and then set the PRG.FLG file?
  2. About every 2 months, my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2X running Android Jelly Bean) calls itself the moment the Bluetooth connection is established with my X930BT. I touch the "hang up" button and everything's OK until the next Bluetooth connection. To get rid of this annoying issue, I reboot the phone and will not be bothered again for another 6-8 weeks. I point the finger at the phone, but has anyone else been getting the same issue?
  3. ...and here's another one... Download and "install" v1.4 the same way you did with v2.21. After taking a backup of it, try deleting the file PRG.FLG located in the USER folder and reboot the unit. Administrators If it can't be fixed real soon, get rid of that bloody v2.21
  4. Yep, bricking units is what v2.21 usually does. I have no freakin' clue why they keep it available. We keep telling people to stay away from it, but when they come here, it's usually because it's too late. When I ran v2.21 and also screwed up my unit, I solved the problem by simply deleting the PRG.FLG file. You might want to try that. I did the anti-nag nav screen and it works great (x930bt). Can't live without it
  5. Which unit do you have? I have a x930bt and everything is quite sharp and easy to read.
  6. 1) Wipe your sd card and copy files from "Hackmode v1.4 base" on it 2) Insert to unit and boot up car, then it will bootup in testmode 3) Once in testmode, the only buttons and actions that will be needed to navigate the screens are the following: * HOME - escape/cancel/go back * MODE - enter/select * Volume down (left) - move selection on screen down * Volume up (right) - move selection on screen up 4) Move the selection on the screen down to #11, File Maintence 5) Press MODE and you will enter the File Maintence screen 6) Select User -> system -> security ->
  7. You obviously need a SD card writer. You download v1.4 of the tool, copy the files in the root of the card, turn on the unit while the card is inserted and go fetch the password as indicated in earlier posts.
  8. I have made a similar dent in mine when the screen touched the "unprotected" gear stick. After a few tears, I converted this misfortune into a lesson: Always put back the rubber knob on the stick ASAP. It's a bit annoying when sliding your finger/nail on the screen, but it still works perfectly.
  9. See http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/35230-2012-uscan-maps-cnsd-310fmuc-upgrade-updated-to-supereasymethod-beta/page-1?hl=+2012%20+maps Be warned that it doesn't list your unit as being compatible with this update. I'm only answering your question!
  10. Well, the basic usefulness of CondiHack is to have access to the internal files of the unit. You can copy, delete and open files including the file that holds the password (most useful for that). So, yes it's good to keep a copy of the files in case whatever goes wrong, but you won't be able to do much else with it (ie. it will not upgrade maps or other firmware) The tool lauch itself. Just copy the files in the root of a SD card, pop it in your unit and turn it on. I also strongly suggest you use v1.4.
  11. "User" is a folder, not a file. Still, it's odd because it has to be on your device because, without it, it wouldn't even boot. Do you see any other files/folders? if so, what do you see?
  12. When I did mine (I also got the X930BT), I followed this YouTube video and it worked great
  13. I don't remember (I installed mine a couple of months ago), but according to page 14 of the installation manual, it's the blue/white wire. Since it's the unit's harness (and not the car's harness), it's your choice to tap or cut the wire. I cut it, but it's up to you.
  14. The wire is identified with a small label "Remote System" (or something like that). It's part of the connector provided with the X930BT since it's the unit's job to tell the amplifier if it should be turned on or off.
  15. Are you talking about the famous "There is no applicable program" (see http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/36778-x9310bt-completely-messed-up/&do=findComment&comment=267142)?
  16. If you're talking about the initial red screen, it's not an error but just... a red screen! Wait a little and the installation will begin shortly. If it's really an error, then perhaps it's a compatibility issue with your unit. On which unit are you trying to install it? But be warned that HackMode v2.2 can be a devil in disguise. Many people and terrible experiences with it (including me). I strongly suggest you use TestMode v1.14
  17. Which version of TestMode did you use? was it v1.4? And what's your native language? Sometimes, miscommunication can be disastrous.
  18. It won't hurt to try. If you use TestMode (v1.4), there's no way you can damage the unit just by loading the SD card into the system. If it works, you can easily retrieve the password. If it doesn't, you can then search for another method.
  19. Answer no But seriously, by downloading TestMode (see http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/31534-condis-hackmode-v14-diskrw-gpsgate-textfiller-regeditor-with-reg-files-associated-updated-13062011/ and make sure you use v1.4), you can access the text file that has your current password. You can view this file to ensure the password you use is the right password.
  20. The only hacks I applied were the handbrake bypass and the removal of the annoying GPS "OK" nag screen.
  21. TestMode (not to be confused with HackMode) are files that allow you to enter the service mode of your unit. With it, you can access the internal files that make everything run. By accessing them, you can copy them on media such as a SD card or USB key (ie. making backups). You can get these files here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/31534-condis-hackmode-v14-diskrw-gpsgate-textfiller-regeditor-with-reg-files-associated-updated-13062011/ but make SURE you get "Condi's HACKMODE v1.4 BASE - INSTALL VIA TESTMODE.zip", nothing else. Once your backup is done, you can update your firmwar
  22. No, I haven't tried to install the x940bt firmware. Indeed, there are people who have succeeded and others who have failed. Fearing to be one who fails, I weighed the pros and cons and decided it wasn't worth the attempt. As for 3.000 to 4.010, I don't know. If you make a backup of your USER folder before doing anything else, I don't think there's any danger as long as you DO NOT use HackMode.
  23. I wonder if there's an option somewhere in TestMode to eject a CD. This could be a solution to this issue.
