  1. Sounds like you are loosing constant power to the radio when you turn off the vehicle. Check the voltage of the red and yellow wires behind the AVIC. Red should be switched voltage and yellow should be constant. If these two wires are reversed, the radio would work when the car is on, but would loose setting every time the car is turned off.
  2. I hate the H1's. To be as big as they are, there is no space to hide electronics. Also converting my 2001 Tahoe's dash to the 03-06 dash was very time consuming. But I'm very anal about the looks of my truck, so it had to be perfect.
  3. Check your remote turn-on? you should be using the blue/white wire, not the blue wire. You can also go under "system settings" and change the ant power to always on.
  4. What type of vehicle? Are you using any interfaces behind the radio?
  5. It sounds like you are using the ant remote to turn on your amp/s. There is a setting that allows you to have the ant remote on all the time or just when the tuner(AM/FM) is active. When the AVIC reset this setting went back to defaut. Try changing this under "System Settings".
  6. The sensors are in the front and rear bumper covers. The laser defuser is mounted to the under side of the front plate holder. There is nothing else visible and the unit uses a remote to control power and settings.
  7. The K40 CalibreDL is nice. Gotta love the LED display w/ voice warning.
  8. Your truck is fine. Most GM alternators produce 14 volts while running. Turn the truck off and you should get a reading of around 12.5V.
  9. The cluster is over the wheel. Speedo, Tach, Fuel Gauges. Remove the four 7mm screews in the corners and it will pull out. Plug is in the center at the top. That box under the wheel is the BCM(Body Control Mod.). Look for the reverse wire in the black plug.
  10. Reverse Light, lt. green, +, BCM, black plug, pin F Speed Sense, dk. green/white, 4K, instrument cluster, pin A4
  11. You can't play video through the CD-IB100II. You can get a cable for your ipod that will give you A/V RCA outputs and connect these to the aux A/V input of the D2.
  12. You can use the cell mute wire(yellow/black). If you are using that for a hands-free you'll have to look around for a pin that will work. I had an old RCA harness from a dropdown screen that used the same pins. I may have some more of these laying around if anyone needs one. Just be careful when relocating the pin. If you deform it or brake the locking tab the pin will not stay in place.
  13. You will need that plug to perform the by-pass. Did you have the Z2 installed by a shop? If so, it sounds like they did not give you the plug. I would go to them and ask for it.
  14. Thanks Hyperlite. Everything worked great. Took about 10 mins even w/ having to hit retry 15 times at 32%.
  15. You can also perform the Z1 to Z2 update and gain access to the spash screen w/o unlocking the hard drive.
  16. Yes, you can damage you D3 by hooking it to 2 ohm spks. Maybe not right away, but over time yes. It might last 1 to 2 days or even months. It wouldn't be worth the risk for me, but it's your call.
  17. That's all the info I could dig up. You might have to look at each location. Sorry.
  18. You can find it at the BCM as described in a post above. Or It can also be found in the convenience center(upper lt side of drivers floorboard). Be sure to test your connection to make sure it works w/ the auto headlights.
  19. Reverse Lights VIOLET/BLACK (+) 16 PIN GRY CONN DRIVERS DASH Speed Sense white/orange conn. 2, pin 27 @ PCM or DODGE, RAM PICKUP, 2003, Speed Sense The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is on the passenger side firewall. On the 4.7L motor, the VSS is white/orange in conn. 1, pin 13. On the 5.7L motor, the VSS is dk. green/yellow in conn. 1, pin 13.
  20. The ill wire in the harness does not switch the Z1 from day to night mode. You will have to catch a wire at the headlight switch or the convence cluster so that the AVIC will know that the lights are on. Which ever wire you use, make sure that it goes to 12V w/ the lights on and that it works w/ the auto head lights.
  21. 1. Read the instructions a few times, so that you're familiar w/ it. 2. Be prepaired for the volume to quit working every once and a while. 3. Ill in the pac harness will not work.
  22. I don't care what they're wearing as long as I get to see! I like the "Extreme T" the best.
  23. I would also run some new power and grd wires to the radio. Maybe the radio is not getting enough current to power the internal amp at higher volumes. Either shorts or not enough current are the common causes of loss of audio at higher volumes. Is you audio somewhat destorted at all volume levels? If so, it could be a short in the speaker wires. In the past I've seen where poor connections at the c-overs of the seps caused these types of problems. Look for loose strainds of wire at the crossover spk connections. Poor sound quality and loss of audio all togeather could come from these stra
