  1. Anyone else have their subscription go inactive? All my MSN Icons are greyed out and under the status page, it says that the subscription is 'inactive'. I went and checked and right now the MSN Direct website is down. Anyone else having issues with MSN Direct?
  2. Edit: NVM, now that I see all these awesome deals coming out for the Z, there's no way I'm ever going to make back anything close to what I paid for it. So, I'll be keeping the Z and probably selling the KW.
  3. I actually just got a DNX6140 from my neighbor in exchange for installing another head unit in his other car. The car that the DNX6140 came out of is getting sold so he's giving it to me as payment for installing/uninstalling everything for him. At this point, I can't justify the money I just spent on the Z110/MSN Tuner/Subscription card when I have a perfectly good Kenwood/Garmin that was pretty much FREE in my eyes.
  4. The nav seemed to perform quite a bit better during the last week. Playing around with the multiple route option definitely helps. I found the MSN Traffic reporting to be fairly accurate, the only problem is, the incidents update like RIGHT before I encounter them. Like my 50 mile trip home showed the traffic as a green light when I started out, but it turned to yellow then red RIGHT as I hit the traffic. MSN Direct is more to blame in this case.
  5. I grabbed my MSN Card at Best Buy yesterday no problem. Now, I just have to decide if I want to keep the Z110BT for sure or not.
  6. On my way home today, I was fiddling with the Z and found that holding down the "Home" button for more than 2 seconds makes the screen turn off. Holding down the "Mode" button for more than 2 seconds brings up brightness, contrast, color temp, and dimmer controls. Hope this helps!
  7. The 9140 is not without its more serious issues with maps disappearing, leaving only the guide arrow, also the street names not showing up at all in many cases. Garmin has apparently admitted to this being caused by bad design in the chipset department, possibly causing a future recall in the event that firmware update can not fix it. Also, like you said the album art taking forever to show is still an issue, and to me the voice control is a joke compared to what Pioneer has, for iPod/AV atleast. For me, I'm still judging whether or not to jump to the 6140 which is much more basic but does
  8. I have now had my Z110BT installed for one week and have put 1,000 miles on it by going to various places in the middle of the night with friends all over Jersey, PA, etc so I have had lots of time to stress test all of the different features and see what is good and what is not so good and what is downright nasty. First, my setup: 2007 VW Jetta Wolfsburg 2.5 Avic-Z110BT GEX-P920XM Tuner iPod 5.5G 30GB 4GB SD Card with MP4 videos/MP3 folders mixed MSN Direct Tuner The Good: -The VR seems to work better than my old F700BT with 3.0 esp for iPod controls. -The unit boots VERY quic
  9. Actually, if you have the i230 iPod cable from the F series you can use that in the mean time. You just need to get a Stereo RCA to 1/8th Mini jack adapter for the audio side of it. That's what I'm doing until the official cable gets here.

    Best price??

I got the unit in the other day from the ebay seller. It came very well packed and the unit was untouched and brand new. Definitely not a refurb or anything. No scratches or any signs near the screw holes that the thing was ever even opened or installed. Very happy to have the extra $350 in my pocket too. The unit is by far the best nav I have owned thus far.

    Best price??

I initially was going to get mine from 6ave (Brick and mortar store near me) but was told by the manager of the car audio department that if it is not professionally installed that there is no factory warranty on it. Their price in store was $1400+$95 tax. $1495 and no warranty. I went home and made an offer with an ebay store with good feedback. $1150 with a backup cam and 2GB flash drive. No tax, free shipping, will be here tomorrow. $350 of extra cash will more than pay for the MSN Tuner and subscription.
  12. Lol, yeah, I've been through a lot. Avic-D3 (Jul 07) -> DNX5120 (Dec 07) -> F700BT (Jun 08) -> F90BT (jun 08*) -> DNX8120 (Jun 08) -> F700BT (Oct 08 for 2.0 update) -> Z110BT (Oct 09) *Thought the 700BT was defective so I exchanged it for the 90BT a day later* The Z110 seems to have the speed, polished interface, and features that I have been looking for. The 9140 was a close second but the bugs that I read about threw me off with the iPod. Also the VR on the Kenwood seems very cheesy with the whole number based commands. The Z110 definitely seems to have it beat
  13. Thanks for the response! I can't wait to get this thing installed. I am friends with a guy at a local stereo shop. He let me test out his Z110BT this week and I must say that I can not wait. The boot time, the responsiveness of the screen, and the voice control of the nav are awesome. Seems like the closest thing to a flawless in-dash nav at this time (Flawless as in that the features that it advertises actually work).
  14. Hey all, Just ordered my Z110 and the ND-MDT10 to replace my F700BT with 3.0 that I could no longer tolerate. For those that have the ND-MDT10, did it come with any kind of trial subscription? I know that the F900/F90s came with a 3 month trial. On the MSN Direct site, it says that all navs that come with an MSN tuner have a 3 month trial subscription and that all standalone MSN tuners come with a full year of service included. I would assume that the ND-MDT10 would count as the latter and have a 1 year subscription, but I cannot find ANY information on a trial of any kind on Pioneer's sit
  15. Yes, but I only have 4 shortcuts, Home, Favorites, Address Entry, and POI Lookup. I took out all the extra, less necessary stuff from CMHs. I just wanted the features that I would use. No screenshots or anything. Just picture a stripped down CMH.
  16. http://rapidshare.com/files/258509283/DATA.ZIP There is my latest DATA.ZIP. My other one was the one that WilliamG used (I posted it a few pages back: http://rapidshare.com/files/257760948/DATA.ZIP). This new one has a working stop nav button, and a different shortcut menu taken from CMHs mod.
  17. Here's my DATA.ZIP, with the Mute button and the shortcut menu. Nothing fancy like I have seen, hopefully someone can figure out the updated function call for the stop guidance command. My DATA.ZIP: http://rapidshare.com/files/257760948/DATA.ZIP
  18. +1. Hopefully they don't try to fight it. I'll just tell them I'll be upgrading to the Z110.
  19. I got the mute button mod working no problem, but can not seem to get the compass mod button working. I got a shortcut menu working for POI lookup, address entry, history, favorites, home, etc.
  20. Thanks, I was following the broken link from inside of their FW update instructions guide which was leading me to an order form for the F series. Thanks!
  21. Does anyone have a copy of the 3.01 update? Pioneer seems to have taken it down off of their site for the time being. I got the 3.0003/CE updated no problem on my 700. Working great so far. Loving the faster button response and I no longer mind the key beeps. Just wish it would boot up a bit faster, but right now it's about 21 seconds to iPod, 45 seconds for Navi, and a minute for BT/VR, which is not too bad.
  22. Just ordered my copy of 3.0. Can't wait! I know that the initial boot time is about the same, but can anyone with an X or a 3.0 comment on how it boots up when there are more things going on than just the core functionality of the unit? Like I get my iPod screen after like 30 seconds or so, but the Bluetooth isn't ready until after a minute or so, and the voice control not for a minute and change, and everything just seems so staggered. Has the code been rewritten to the point that the initial media playback screen takes the same time to come up, but the VR, BT, and iGo are loaded much mo
  23. Looks like I may have to get the Z series after all. My F700 has been on the fritz now for the last week. For example, I got in my car the other day, and out of NO WHERE, the brightness of the screen for both day and night modes somehow got set all the way down to zero. It looked like the backlight had died. Luckily, I just reset the brightness to 10 and has been ok since. Then, today, the rear view camera somehow just enabled itself where the screen would go black every time I put the car into reverse (The unit thought I had a rear cam when I don't). I had to go in and disable to cam to g
  24. I wouldn't be afraid of being an early adopter of the Z. All the bugs/BS from the F series were due to Pioneer outsourcing the whole software end to another company. The bugs/slowness were probably a result of overseas programmers who probably never even used a GPS or even owned a car. This time around, Pioneer has rewritten the entire code for all the units in house, just the same as the older Z/D/N series had been. Those were all relatively bug free upon release compared to the F series. Also from the 20 minutes of combined footage of the Z series in use thanks to Jason, we know that in the
