I tell you what the issue REALLY is: Its newcomers thinking they will jump on some forum (random forum to them) and make a quick name for themselves by posting bullshit. there are two wires for your car, a 'dimmer' and an 'parking light' like wire. If you pull the deck out and look at the wire harness you will see probably ONLY 1 orange wire plugged into the aftermarket wire harness. there the other wire usually doesnt have a coresponding wire on the other side from the car. You can use either one, also you would need to set it in the avic for which wire type your using. You wouldnt want to connect the wire to your headlights as you do have daytime running lights, very annoying in my opinion and VERY bad wear and tear on the type of lights in that car. especia

you could disconnect it and do without the features of it temp for say 2 weeks? then be able to tell if its something running through that.... thats short of doing a current draw test.

probably not (just) the avic. you could easily get a meter and run a current draw to locate the source. make sure not to have dome light on, or headlights/parking lights when running it for a current draw. you could then pull fuses one at a time to find where the largest draw is coming from. You can even get an acceptable draw rating from the directions with the meter yuou get. I would bet theres probably something else doing it. I know my car use to do the same thing if left for 2 weeks without starting.. of course i had alot more to it then just a avic in it.

kenwood has/had a line that you could dial in the color if i remember right. Its more of a deep orange though. Dont know how close it will get either.
