Hello Buddy! I've seen you post and help few people with their nav systems. Could you possibly help me too? I use a Avic-Mrz05 and I tried to change it from Japanese to English but I accidentally deleted both my  PF090JPJPN.LNG and PF90JPENG.LNG from both the PRG0 and PRG1 files. My texts are all gone and I cannot fix it.  I'm pretty much freaking out as I dont have a backup of those files. Can you please help me by providing me step by step guide and the required files to fix my issue.

I know I am asking for a lot but please help me with this.

Thanks in Advance.

Here are the files.

PF110JPMTB.LNG

PF090JPENG.LNG

PF090JPJPN.LNG

PF110JPENG.LNG

PF110JPJPN.LNG

PF110JPMEN.LNG

download the files. put the files on the SD card. insert the card in your DVD player. Copy these files to your prg0 and prg1 folder.

Will I get the japanese lang and texts back? Or English? Because I tried copying PF090JPENG.LNG and PF090JPJPN.LNG on both PRG folders. Nothing happened. Do I need to delete any files before pasting these files?

Dear Javed,

I accidentally deleted some files on my USER folder when I was trying to convert the language from japanese to english.

Now my car radio screen is just blank, May you kindly send me the original USER folder backup, if you have it please.

PLEASE HELP ME, PLEASE!

Many friends have already put the files in earlier pages, you can download and use them. See the previous pages for more details.

yes you need to delete the old files first, only then you can paste the new files. After pasting check the dates to confirm if the files are actually new.

I've translated the Japanese language strings for the MRZ99 to English.

I figured out the format of the LNG file, dumped the Japanese, translated all the strings using google translate, then rebuilt the file.

Some of the English is not perfect but it makes the system much more usable.

I've tested it with APP firmware version 3.070200 (installed with platform version 3.000600), other versions may not work.

If the old language file is 93627 bytes long then this will almost certainly work.

To install this, unzip the attachment mrz99english.zip and put the PF090JPJPN.LNG file on an sd card. (130905 bytes, md5sum is cb3f9cb76330704cc171e2b0acb9f6ad)

Get into testmode by holding the NAVI button (left button with Japanese writing on it) and pressing right..left..right..left..right..left and then release NAVI.

Go to the last entry on the first page (File Maintenance in Japanese) and press MENU (right button with Japanese writing on it)

This opens the file manager which is in English and fairly obvious.

Make a backup of /USER as described elsewhere on avic411.com

Look in /USER to see if there is a file named  PRG.FLG

if there is, then the system uses /USER/PRG1, otherwise it uses /USER/PRG0

You can check the file versions by looking at  /USER/PRGx/PF090APL.HTM (where x is 0 or 1 depending on PRG.FLG)

go to  /USER/PRGx/APL/LANGDATA/

delete  PF090JPJPN.LNG

go to /SD, copy the new PF090JPJPN.LNG and paste it into LANGDATA where the old one was.

Switch off the power and when it restarts, it should be in English....

This worked for me but obviously is not 100% safe, be very careful in the file manager.

Update: There's now an installer that also changes the background and most of the important images with japanese text.

Find it here:

https://github.com/dzo/mrz99/releases

mrz99English_v2.zip

i try but i can't find lang data file. i can't go to next step after (go to  /USER/PRGx/APL/LANGDATA/)

can you tell me how to find that file?

Hello! I have an MP-310A.
I delete the stock file PF090JPJPN.LNG from the PRG0 and PRG1 folders on it.
I copy in a tezhe of a folder a new file which for MRZ99.
Nothing happens. As shown by the Japanese, and shows.
Although Ilnur somewhere above installed on the MP-309A.
What could be someone can tell.
Such sensation that the system does not pay attention to them at all.
Like a bud, she reads a language from another place.
Thank.

MP-310 is a Nissan model so the language will probably be called NA090JPJPN.LNG (NA stands for nissan), try the one I made for MP-309A (mrz0047) but make sure you copy the existing file first and post it here if the translation is wrong.
