liquidfuel
i bought mine refurbished from Apple. price was $199 but i used my $100 Apple iPhone credit towards the iPod so i got it for about $112 incl. tax. shipping was free! it's a black 30GB version and i think it's the 5.5. kruff10
and how can i tell if someone i can buy from is safe .
HiFiSi
Well look at the seller's feedback. The ones who have a ton of feedback, mostly positive are a better choice. The ones with little to no feedback or a lot of negative feedback you might want to steer clear from.
knight20
You'll also want to read some of the feedbacks. Ones that are generic like "Good Ebayer A++++" can be sellers boosting their ratings on small things and they scam people on big stuff.

knight20
The day that the iPod touch came out, I looked through the refurbished stuff and the 5th gen iPods were gone. Glad there're back, and the 80 gig is only $20 more. Why didn't you get the 80 gig?

HiFiSi
Yes, it works. That's the whole reason we're discussing buying the old refurbished ipods instead of the new ones.

knight20
Wow, just checked again, and the 80gig is gone now. Guess you have to really jump on them when they show up.
skippy911
Update" Now the ipod classic is randomly freezing tracks. WHat a pain in the ass I really like the classic but with no video out and the track freezing I will probably just go with the gen 5.5 afterall. Thank goodness for costco's return policy No charge for open box ipod returns.
