Software mod "bypass" confirmed - Put away your wi
HiFiSi replied to jasonnorm's topic in Hacks/Mods
You MUST NOT uncompress/recompress that DATA.ZIP file. If you do, things don't work correctly when you try to use it. To work with the files inside of it, right click on the DATA.ZIP file and explore it, or open it up in the winrar program. But DO NOT unzip/uncompress it. -
700BT volume stays all the way up at 62
HiFiSi replied to Tiesto's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
I was thinking the exact same thing. Something else is sending a VOLUME UP signal to the unit constantly, either remotely (steering wheel controls) or internally (a faulty volume knob) But I think if the volume knob was faulty and giving it a constant volume up command it wouldn't turn down the volume when you turn the knob to the left, maybe. -
They work flawlessly with the F-series. All audio and video functions are controllable from the radio's interface.

100% compatible with audio and video. No problems.

You are going to have to do some re-wiring as the two do not share similar harnesses. Should not be too hard if you've installed any car stereos before, though.

Converting Music Videos for Ipod Playback
HiFiSi replied to peterparker's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Yes, but it still works on windows. It's what i used to convert all my DVD's to ipod movies. -
Is it an original disk or a copy?
-
That might have been funny a year ago...
-
Almost guaranteed all future firmware updates will be downloadable from pioneer's website and can be installed with an SD card or USB stick. The only thing I see that may cost money is 2009's map updates, possibly. But even then, they MIGHT also be downloadable. But we won't know until that time comes.

They're just trying to think up a credible excuse for it lol

AND IT BEGINS... -
I've got two computers DL'ing it right now, one at home and one at work. Once they both finish the download, or get close to it, it should speed up a good bit. They both have around 2400kbps upload speeds.

If you can plug it in to a TV's RCA unputs, you can plug it into the AVIC's RCA inputs. The AV inputs on it basically function the same as a television's do. It will play whatever video source you plug into it.

OK. I added it to my torrent program. Currently downloading at 1800kbps and uploading at 600kbps. I have a question, though... my winrar program says the contents of the RAR file is a single file named "avic80.UIF" What exactly is a UIF file? I though this was supposed to be a disk image, like and ISO or IMG or BIN file.

Awesome find! Good to know it can be done via software as well. Although I'm sure this one would net even more noobish questions than the hardware bypass already does... -
If I remember correctly, you can request a hard copy of the manual from Pioneer and they will send you one.

I wouldn't count on that. There's been a few people who had them professionally installed and it turned out they never hooked up the VSS and/or reverse signal wires. To check if the VSS is hooked up, go to: SETTINGS > HARDWARE INFO > CONNECTION STATUS Look at the SPEED PULSE reading. It should read zero when the car is stationary, but the number should go up as your car's speed increases. If it remains at zero while your car is moving, it is not connected or connected improperly. Also, go to: SETTINGS > HARDWARE INFO > CONNECTION STATUS And see what it says under the

How is your satellite signal strength, and is your VSS wire hooked up?
