Wow, how did water get into the unit???? Was your sunroof the culprit? You know there is a ribbon cable that attaches the screen to the main unit. I bet that got damaged and you probably have to send it in for repair.

Interesting if that means you can use the old bypass.

I agree, even the input letters on the qwerty keyboard gets blacked out so you cant input any other letters except whats in the data base.

Why not just get the bimmerman bezel?

You should check the connection between the Screen and the Unit. Its a short flat ribbon cable that connects the two. It could be loose.

1) Z1 is HDD based so route calcuations are fast. I know the DVD disc based are slower. Plus I have disc drive thats always available no matter what. 2) 7 Inch LCD Screen. 3) 10 gb for music These are a HUGE deal maker/Breakers for me and the D3 does not fit my needs.

Maybe we can all chip in a dollar to buy a communal Z2! Its probably 220,000 because it has Laser Guided Advanced Vetronics system to Lock-on to drivers ahead, and then fire Surface to surface short-range ballistic Missiles. This or its a typo

Like the M5, but literally its a freaking BOAT. With the proper weight reduction, brake upgrades, stabilizer bars, M3 handling and acceleration is breathtaking! But we are here about the Z1 anyways Hope this doesnt turn into Bimmerfest.com or M3forums.com

If you can find a great low price on a Z1, I say take that choice. Because the Z2 is likely going to be at a higher price when I first hits the market anyways. I wouldn't worry about bypass issues because I am sure the Z2 would be able to bypass as well.

So your Z1 is fine and boots up , but all the add on modules are not working? Maybe you should check to see if you blown a fuse.

My signal improved greatly after Hooking up the VSS wire + putting the Metallic magnetic plate that came with our units under the gps antannae.

If its a european unit, then doesnt Pioneer Inc. of Europe have their own Customer support which would provide their own version of the bluetooth update disc? I would check!

I personally feel thats not a smart move. Unless its a well known friend or some sort. Such an expensive unit especially with a hard disk drive should be purchased from a well known pioneer seller/dealer. So ABESOFMAINE.com don't have any in stock? Thats where ducatiboy got one of his units and so did I for about 1500 new.

Maybe until the update is released, you can turn on the tracking option. It leaves "crumbs" on your traveled routes. So if you are a road that has not been created by the z1 yet, you will at least see the trail created by z1. I think its under the maps tap, in the displayed info settings.
