1. It will also only test when the car is moving.
2. It probably could. I've never really tried it for any length of time. I would assume it to be more likely to mess up the navi if the unit loses the gps signal for some reason.
3. But amzingly enough there are a lot of people in this world that function without a brain. No offense to anyone here just dealt with a lot of dumb people today.
4. As long as the screen still opens and closes properly you'll be fine. I just wouldn't make a habit of it. Btw any pioneer remote will work on the avics, just so you know they do have an att button.
5.

While I think DB has worked hard on this by pass I think we are forgetting the two who started this. PAC Tech and Tech12volt got all this started. It is even Tech12volt’s picture that is posted here. I think we also need to say they to are stand up guys with out  then This fix,if it turns out to work, would not have been found.
Who started this? No one had any information and I went out and bought one just to see if I can find this. I'm all for thanking people who needed to be thanked... but if others had information, I wish
6. 1) Is there any other way to enable dvd playback during drive without removing the void warranty sticker on the back? -- i don't want to void the warranty I beleive you can run an rca from the video output to the rear cam input. Then hook a toggle switch up to the reverse wire. The downside of doing it that way is you'll have objects are closer than hey appear along the bottom of the screen. 2) What do I have to buy separately to enable voice command? (Microphone, anything else?) Yes you'll need the CD-VC1. Which comes with the microphone and a steering wheel mounted remote
7. That's it. Just make sure both of those wires are completely taped up and not connected to anything.
8. Not in Tampa, but a friend of mine use to work for a place called blvd customs in st. petersburg. They should be able to help you out. website is www.blvdcustoms.com
9. Tell your installer to make sure the yellow/black cell mutet wire on the back of the display is not hooked up to ANYTHING. I've seen people hook it up to I beleive it's the guide on wire which will cause the problem you're talking about.
10. That's what they make paint for :)
11. That's a new one, you can try swapping the interface out could possibly be something wrong inside the module. Aside from that I don't really know what else to say short of trying a different brand interface.
12. Make sure the installer is using an interface meant for the bose system and that they're following the directions as far as setting factory radio before removing it. Removing the bose system is an option, though bypass the amp is not fun. The amp is under the center console. you'll also have to replace the speakers at the same time because the factory speakers run at 2 ohms.
13. Yeah have been hearing about that for a couple years now. The hard part is going to be overcoming the bandwidth limitations. Especially if they want to provide any sort of decent quality video streams.
14. The things people will do for sat radio :). Anyway, doesn't look too bad. the radio doesn't look to have any real curves. I don't see why a custom kit couldn't be easily made to work. Then again that really does depend on what it looks like disassembled. I really am no help am I.
15. nope, it comes with everything you'll need. just make sure when you put it in that you plug the pbus cable into the black port and not the blue port of the ipod interfeace. If you do plug it into the blue port, you'll be able to control the ipod, but you wont get any sound from it.
16. Definately sounds like either an improper interface or a bad one. Never had that kind of issue with the peripherial (sp?) gm interfaces. Before i forget, does the truck have the bose system? I have seen issues alone the lines your describing using the nonbose interface on a bose truck, or using the non bose interface on a bose truck.
17. What interface did you use? I've seen it happen in the past and most of the interfaces tell you what to do to reduce or get rid of the noise in your situation.
18. The 07 I haven't had the pleasure of dealing with yet. From what you're saying though sounds like it's not just a double din radio anymore. As for steering wheel controls, I'm sure one of the many availible interfaces could be used to make them work with the z1.
19. There are some states where even having navi in view of the driver is illegal, but that's beside the point. It would be nice to know why so much stuff is locked out with the z1.
20. Your cell mute wire might not be making contact with the pin inside the d2.
21. Yes as a matter of fact, I have put a z1 and a couple of the eclipse dd navis into santa fes.
22. Wow you mean it might have actually become easier to bypass... Downside is people won't need your circuit anymore. Which I guess that does kind of suck.
23. It's only bad if you're not getting reception. He's obviously getting reception otherwise it would have been moved. Most car dashes still have large amounts of metal substructure. which is more than enough to create a ground plane for the antenna.
24. Yeah fiberglassing. Best bet to find out is just drop by a shop and see what they have to say. My experiences with mazdas is that the ac controls are in the same bezels as the stock radio, how ever they are not tied into the radio much past power connections.
25. First I grind down the little nubs . Then depending on how far I need to move the radio, I'll either enlarge the stock holes with a unibit or just drill new holes if I have to move the radio further.
