  1. I believe u need the lightning cable for iPhone 5 and the RGB CABLE, u have to look in the installation manual, it could be called VGA CABLE, And the apple adapter
  2. Connect to usb1 with hdmi with digital av connector using hdmi and lightning cable, go into settings, then smartphone setup on the nex and chose digital av adapter, download the app, make sure your phone is unlocked so u can click allow on your phone and you should be up and running, download any other apps you chose to use. In waze on your phone you have to go to settings and set it to allow external device
  3. Try a blow dryer on cool air for a little bit see if that speeds up the drying
  4. Well your a buzzkill ROFL. ThAnks for the info though
  5. I agree, I would have loved an iPad mini custom installed into my dash with a side slide kit, but when I priced it out, I just couldn't afford it. Maybe one day I will do it, but not right now
  6. Only USB 1 will work with iPhone and app mode, you lose connection to USB 2 when you chose the adapter mode
  7. Yes to the pop disclaimer for the navigation screen only. Yes you can access artists, songs., etc directly from the iPod screen and other sources as well as 1 click to eq settings if you want to change the sounds
  8. You can't dim the unit with the actual car dimmer, you can set day/night mode in the nex, you can also set the brightness of the radio in the settings as well. It will automatically switch when your lights go on or off.
  9. I have an iPhone 5s hooked to USB 1, and an iPod to USB 2 but when my son gets in with me he plugs in his iPhone to usb 2 and I can choose music from my phone or his phone
  10. Appradio isn't great, it works ok, to be honest I think I will barely use it but I'm happy it's there if I want to
  11. I had a Z2 for a long time, I so glad I got the nex 8000, major upgrade. Yes there are a few faults, yes pioneer seemed to have rushed the unit out the door, but for the most part it's very functional and I love it. Excited for car play Disappointed the connected services aren't ready but will be in summer when the AVICSync app is released " per my conversation with pioneer" Wish USB 1 and 2 had separate options for connection type in the settings. Navigation is pretty good. Great sounding tunes and lots of options in my opinion. The screen is absolutely gorgeous
  12. I set up custom eq and change my selection depending upon the source, basically I use the powerful settings and customize that, one for aha and pandora, and then again a different setting for iPod and sd card. Pandora and aha needs more mid and bass and iPod needs more treble and little bass bump for my liking. My recommendation is to make small adjustments, listen for a bit and see what you enjoy more. It took me a few days to get how I enjoy my sound. I'm more of a heavy metal, slow rock listener, but I do enjoy me some Adell too. Having the eq settings one touch away is absolutely
  13. I've done about a thousand miles of travel and navigation with mine, mostly central and southern NJ, a little bit of Staten Island and my GPS has been pretty spot on. One thing I noticed is that if I choose a car graphic I can actually pass a street before the Navigation does, if I chose the standard arrow it's perfect when driving so I set it back to the arrow.
  14. You can select custom settings in eq, and it's easy enough to switch when you switch sources
  15. I downloaded the app yesterday, gonna fool around with it myself
  16. Yup you are correct, I called pioneer and they said same thing, however my sons iPhone 4 took forever to get working the first time, after they helped me get his working it worked after that pretty quickly
  17. I lightning cable, hdmi cable and lighting to digital av adapter is what you need.
  18. That's not what the video suggests, the video shows selecting USB, not the converter. I've been trying to call pioneer, it's busy busy for the last hour
  19. All I can say is the screen is absolutely bright and vibrant, the touch is excellent, it works just as good as my iPhone and iPad, I have not had any issues with the touchscreen except its a dust magnet. I keep a fiber cloth in my truck to keep it clean.
  20. I figured I'd give it a try, I grabbed my sons iPhone 4 downloaded all the apps, paired Bluetooth hooked it up to USB1 and it still doesn't give me apps. Latest iOS software on his phone too so I don't think it's that I'm gonna call pioneer wait 35 min on hold again lol and try to see what the deal is.
  21. I think the iTunes tagging feature is pretty cool, but i don't listen to fm much. I listen more from my music collection more than anything, then comes pandora, it would be cool if you could tag from pandora too. My son busts my chops and tells me I need to update my music cause I'm an old school rock guy loaded with bands from the 70's and 80's. Hence I listen to some fm but not much to update to some newer bands.
  22. Ok so it must be an updated unit they are using in the video, I feel better.
  23. The robot voice isn't that bad, i do prefer the Amy voice but I'd rather hear street names when i need to turn so I'll live with the robot. Maybe they will update or offer to purchase other sexy voices with street names. I'd be good with that.
