Apple product, avic sync will only work from USB1, once you get the phone associated you should be able to turn car play back on and everything function properly
-
if you try to use Siri while using CarPlay it's really hit or miss, it can be slow responses or no responses, disconnect the lightning cable so your not using CarPlay and Siri seems to be much more responsive. iPhone 6plus Avic 8000 Software and firmware up to date

In settings select lightning adapter and hook up lightning adapter will enable you to use iPhone with appradio In setting select USB Amd DO NOT USE the hdmi lightning adapter, Hook your phone directly to USB 1 using lightning connector wire only for car play to function, app radio will now be unusable

I would disconnect the rr completely to see if the problem persists with the rr out of the equasion,

You need to download the naviextras app on you pc, get a usb stick and read the manual on how to insert it into your nex to format and download what's needed from your nex, then start up the naviextras program on your pc, insert it into your pc, and follow the directions from your manual Read your manual so you understand what your doing and don't brick your unit

Honestly im with you, my 8000 will be the last pioneer product I will buy. Having to wait nearly 2 years for it to function with features promised is just absurd. I don't even use the built in navigation because the routes it takes me has me saying why the hell is it taking me that way, most of the time when I know easier, faster routes even with traffic turned off. Pioneer was a big fail on this one I will say they went in a good direction but failed in execution, and it's the best sounding radio I've had so I'm happy with that. What keeps it in my truck is the sound quality and waze

I actually had trouble connecting mine, finally set,it up as I was going to use app mode and it associated finally, then set it back up as I use car play and it still works. 8000 and ip6+

when you want to use Appradio, on the nex, in the smartphone settings, make sure the setting is set to digital av adapter, then open app radio, then connect the cable. and whala, it should work, if it doesnt reboot your phone and retry, to get apple car play to work, go back into smartphone settins, and set it to usb, also just use lightning cable without the apple connector for hdmi

NEX8000 Does Not Show Caller Names with Bluetooth Connection
tekki replied to bmegdal's topic in NEX Series
Check your contacts are on the nex without the phone being connected, that will tell you if they are transferred -
Red light warnings are tied to the AvicSync app, however there are a few that are already stored in the nex once you go into the warning settings and turn them on.

WARNING: don't upgrade to IOS 8.4, it'll brick your carplay
tekki replied to gasongasoff's topic in NEX Series
Using latest firmware ip6+ and nex8000 the only issue I have is pandora cuts in and out sometimes while using CarPlay, but if I turn CarPlay off or just use Bluetooth it works fine -
I don't like BB, talk about shafting its loyal customers, after the playbook I will never buy blackberry anything

Honestly what I feel is that pioneer couldn't get any developers on board for Avicsync or the connected services to go with it, so here we are with a half finished product. My advice stop buying pioneer

Associate new phone, 6100 NEX Nav button, AVICSYNC?? Where?
tekki replied to acwoodATL's topic in NEX Series
Don't hold your breath waiting for Avicsync, it's been almost a year and a half that we are waiting for this app so our nex systems function in the way they were sold as. -

Make the opening a little bigger and install the unit with a little tilt down. That's what I did and I rarely have screen glare -
I'm curious, in the manual for the x100 owners, does it say you need Avicsync for connected services like it does for say the nex8000. Just curious
-
It's been over a year with 2 announcements for its estimated release and those time frames have come and past. Don't hold your breath
-
Welcome to the world of connected services and avic sync, oh wait there is no connected services or Avicsync
-
Ya, I wouldn't hold your breath, pioneer once again released a half baked product. They lost me, I won't ever purchase another pioneer product. Glad I was able to return one of my 8000 for a full refund from my credit card
