  1. S1l, thats one fo the best looking ones I've seen to date! Wanna create me one
  2. new D3 here and bypass works like a charm still
  3. mine is a little to literal with "shortest distance" and "fastest route" yes, in thoery taking downtown streets has the shortest KM's therefore quickest Time. However going 5 min south to hit the free way cuts the route down by 1/2. never once does it recommend this unless i'm basically on the highway already. The software isn't good. I would highly recommend that Pioneer sticks to what it does best, Great hardware and leave the map programming to the mapping guys. Go to Navteq, Garmin or Tom Tom who make a living out of maping software
  4. check your video settings to ensure that "video out" has been turned on.
  5. lightsout, That seems to be the pattern with folks on this board and others. If someone has never had Navi capabilities, the D3 is a godsend. However, most folks who are familiar with Navi's (ie. accuracy, avoidance, shortest vs fastest, rerouting, speed of calculation, etc) knows the Pioneer D3 falls way short of the competition. I said it many times before and will say it once again, the D3 is an awesome unit if Navi is not a priority. I'm going to have to agree with this. I LOVE the D3 and having the system all together in one beautifull package But the navigation
  6. give it a shot. thats the best i can think of. if it works, feel like writing one for a handheld PDA? Might make things a lot easier for some of us

    car Decals

Hey all, I'm looking to make some car Decals / stickers of my own for my own website and i see you've created some of your own. where is a good site to do this? My decals would be multi colour hopefully, but small. props for best prices too
  8. there was this huge rush of ipods at this pawn shop nearby. Really cheap. brand new ipod nano's for nearly 1/2 price. I Thought they hhad to be stolen!!!!! they weren't. everyone 100% legit, in the box. a lil research. TD Bank branch in the next door mall was having a special "Create a cheque account and get a free Nano" this TD so happened to be in a very scummy poor neighbourhood. Apparently a group of guys decided the best way for easy cash was sign up, get the nano and then pawn them. The pawn shop had about a hundred of them. I didnt buy any myself, as i have my 60g
  9. easy to put it on. you can use the crimper locks that come with it, however in my experience there's not a good enough connection and overtime it loses it. I preffer the method of stripping by hand a peice of wire and doing a PROPER wiring connection, Solder if possible if not than covering with electrical tape Remember, Electrical tape is there for protection against outside interference or shorts. NOT to hold the joint together
  10. I think you got the snarky response because buying a D3 legitimetly should come with the Discs. Acquiring the software without purchasing it violates international copyright laws and is probably frowned upon by many. Call pioneer, and i'm sure they will sell you a new set
  11. i'm not sure why even on any car you'd not be using the harness that comes with the D3? i think you're confusing where the wiring is. this wiring mod is done COMPLETELY on the parts that come with the D3. the harness in discussion here is the harness that has the wiring for the D3 itself. it is irrelevant the wiring on the car itself to do this mod.
  12. OK i'm sure i'll figure it out when i remember where the manual is, thanks for the help i have to say, as generic as those instructions are, i laughed at them. its going to be my new help line
  13. i must have seriously misssed something! cause i have no clue what you're talking about! lol
  14. I'm having a danged time finding this; I have the Samsung M500 phone with Bluetooth. I can connect the phone, listen to MP3's make calls. It works just fine and dandy. like many other phones, I can't sync address book, which sucks But, the thing i can't figure out is how to automatically connect my phone when i getinto the car. So far, when i leave the car and come back, I must manually do it by going to my phone and telling it to connect, and going to the Avic and telling it to connect. Pretty impractical i must say as unless i think to do it EVERYTIME i get in the car, it
  15. Very nice install. I'm continuously impressed with Futureshop / best buys installations that i've seen. Most of the time i'd generally be afraid of big box electronics stores, But so far they seem to know what they're doing!
  16. so far I've taken one of those little hook thingy's that came with it for routing wires. Stuck it about 1" above the radio when i get out of the car, I just hang my hat from it. blocks the radio from view.
  17. A lot of places will not do the hack for you because it is technically illegal in most places. the only way i know is to bypass it with these instructions. Once it's installed you'll have to pull the wiring out yourself to redo the bypass
  18. you can strip off coating at any point on the ground wire. I stripped off about 3-4cms from midway on the black wire, and connected the Mute and Ebrake wire there and cleaned it up. that way i only had to worry about grounding the end of the black wire, which i did to the chassi
  19. youve got wires crossed somewhere
  20. Depends on the car. I have my BTB200 unit in the glovebox and there was no drilling necesary. The sides of the box open up to the inside of the dash and it was very very easy to pass wires from the console to the box '
  21. its really not that hard people Move pin connect to black wire Connect green wire to blac wire Connect black wire to metal and voila
  22. not going to answer 1 - 3 cause theyw ere answered perfectly before 4> part of the Vibes dash thing there's this littlecompartment near the floor right under the centre stuff. i have it going in there. when i close it you can't see the ipod or wires
  23. Daytime running lights don't run the full system. So while you may not see a difference there is. While your DRL are on, even if it runs your headlights on full, it doesn't usually run your outside marker lights. Turning that switch to ON will turn on your full cars lighting system. If yuo have automatic light controls than this is usually done for you automatically. if connected correctly your D3 should be able to read when the system is on or off and dim itself accordingly. This is how it works in my Vibe
  24. I didnt even notice it myself. I drove last night with it the first time and it was dim enough that it didn't glare or annoy the hell out of me, But it was still bright enough to be clearly seen. i think it also depends as you said on the relative ambient light. I usually keep my dash on full brightness so it was definately a lil dimmer than that.
  25. if wired correctluy, when it detects the headlamps are on, ithe screen will dim I just discovered that feature this morning
