I guess I should stop being so cheap and buy the good stuff.

I understand what you mean, but I cannot stand having to hit "OK" every time I start my car, let alone entering a number. A nice feature would be a lock down feature. Where you press a button and it locks, then you need a code to unlock it. And get rid of that annoying "OK".

Adding up the years makes me feel old. I've been doing it for almost 18 years now.

Don't crimp. Solder only. Then heat shrink. If you must use electrical tape, get a tube of silicon and put a tiny bit over the tape to keep it from falling off.

I live in Canada too. I ship to a UPS or Fed Ex terminal in Michigan. I know you live a bit farther away from the USA, but the amount of money you can save might be worth the trip to Buffalo NY. When I bought my N1 and D2 I purchased it from a US dealer. I gave them the address of a terminal just outside Detroit (for safety reasons). Shipping to a terminal is not a problem as it is even more secure than home delivery. I also give them my home and cell number. I've done this many times with many items I've bought off ebay, online and via phone. Never had a problem. I live just outsi

The clock in the newer Chrysler Cars is nice. I am not sure if it is a stand alone device that you can remove, but it might be worth checking out.

I usually install them facing backwards.

Can anyone suggest a cable to use to connect my Xbox to my D2. The Xbox is in the trunk and I will need a shielded cable of some sort. I would also like to shield the Xbox cable it self to keep the picture as clear as possible. What I am looking for is a quality shielded RCA cable and some material that I can use to add shielding to the Xbox cable. Any suggestions, website, experiences doing this?

Dump the Boss ASAP. I went that route and they were good for about 3 months, then pixels went dead, followed by entire lines. The other monitor lasted a bit longer but it eventually had issues with colors and that is when I dumped them. I then bought a brand name (Clarion I think) and I have been amazed with the quality since then. It has now been 2.5 years and they are as good as new.

Nice job. I must have been nice to work on an older car with some room under the dash.

Check this out. I would love to try this once. http://www.glumbert.com/media/bugatti

If it said it won't fit, just make sure you have at least a Double Din opening. Can someone please post the dimensions I don't know them off hand. If you have a DD or larger then it will fit but you most likely will need some sort of adapter.

If it is still under warranty I suggest you send it in. If reset doesn't work then I wouldn't risk giving them a reason to void the warranty. Reset it twice in a row, see it that helps, then send it in.

Two_Cold Because I am always cold and I don't like cold weather. Give me 90s and high humidity all the time. Two instead of too because too_cold was taken on the bulletin board when I first thought up the name about 10 yrs ago.

Avic-N1 Touchscreen needs calibration

Ask in the N1/2/3 section. -
That problem has arisen here before. I had a refurb that I had to return for that reason. Seems to be a fairly common problem with the D1/D2.

In my 2002 Mustang if I disable the traction control and do donuts I can get the side G and acceleration G to go past 1. This contest is a great idea but not an accurate reading of true G forces. I will do it and take a few pics to post here though, just because it is fun.

Two questions on gauges and additonal components....
Two_Cold replied to EclipseGS45150's topic in Hacks/Mods
You should ask in the N1/2/3 forum, they might have an answer there. -
The unit looks good, but the fact remains that it is still a Chrysler radio. I suggest to all that you take the basic unit that comes with a Chrysler vehicle. Use the huge amount of money you saved and buy a high end aftermarket unit.

I had the same problem. It was a bad unit. I had to send it back.

I've had a convertible stolen. EDITED because some Keyboard Tough Guys here are a bit obsessive.

If the version is the same then you will have to do nothing except insert the DVD. However, the clicking could be a sign of something mechanical, I hope it is just the copy... good luck.

You are in the D1/D2 forum.

I had Sirius and it was great. Far better than FM, it did drop out in the city, but not too often. I now have XM and it too is excellent. Makes FM sound terrible. It has never dropped out. The antenna is on my trunk lid under the wing. I live in Canada, just across from Detroit, Michigan. I have an AVIC D2.
