  1. In case anyone else searches in the future for systems using a PAC C2R-FRD1 or possibly other integration wiring modules see the attached tech note that was released. It explains the reason for unintended system resets along with a workaround - http://www.pac-audio.com/PACProductData/C2R-FRD1/3_Tech_Briefs/c2r-frd1_tech_bulletin_002.pdf
  2. As long as you always have GPS signal it doesn't serve a purpose. If you do lose GPS (tall buildings, tunnels, etc) the VSS is used in conjunction with the internal gyro and compass to perform dead reckoning navigation.
  3. The sirius tuner should be fine as I'm using the original SIR-PNR1. The ipod adapter isn't required with the 110 and the nav antenna and mic should work fine.
  4. It sounds like your illumination wire isn't connected properly.
  5. Interesting.. Did you use the relay to connect a higher power feed to the radio's accessory wire ? I occasionally have the same problem with a PAC controller but had an ammeter on the accessory wire to rule out too much current draw on the controller.
  6. Is it possible to turn the additional screens on one at a time ? It sounds like one of them is causing a fair amount of rf noise and interfering with signal reception. If you happen to have access to a spectrum analyzer you could confirm.
  7. I installed the same setup in my '06 explorer and reused the factory satellite antenna for a cleaner look. The new sirius tuner was installed in the factory location (passenger side kick panel) and you just have to take the plastic cover off the end antenna cable to get it to fit. It snaps in 2 pieces so you can put it back to stock later if desired. I used the PAC C2R-FRD1 but the scosche looks to be identical - I wouldn't be surprised if the same manufacturer supplied both companies. I have a problem with my setup where turning the volume up loud with the sub enabled (with any music that has
  8. Figured I would share if anyone was interested. Use promotion code VRCBKCX6 for 30% off. Works for most other Pioneer products as well.
  9. Thanks DM ! I just placed an order as well for the same price.
  10. As long as you have the remote and the non-touchscreen disc you can downgrade a unit with the newer version. The thread with instructions to do this can be found here - viewtopic.php?p=13060
  11. So in other words he's interested in helping the modding community and not stealing? I'm good with that... Except that cracking an anti piracy key on a software upgrade has absolutely nothing to do with modding anything.
  12. I guess I'm a little confused.. If you bought the upgrade why would you be downloading the same thing again ?
  13. Searching for Pioneer IP Bus pinout brought it right up. Good luck - I imagine the IP Bus control plane is very proprietary ! http://www.hardwarebook.info/Pioneer_IP-Bus
  14. I got mine but the receipt that was included in the box was from 6ave directly.
  15. Mine arrived today as well. I bought my Z from 6ave via Amazon and had no problems getting the rebate.
  16. +1. This is exactly what I'm waiting for. Until then there's no way I'm buying a $100 tuner to throw it away.
  17. I bought mine from woofers etc. via ebay. $42.90 shipped and it arrived quickly. They clearly state that it's version 1.6.8 as well - http://cgi.ebay.com/SWI-PS-PAC-STEERING ... 1e5a21954e
  18. It's dependent on having the illumination wire connected properly to the headunit. This is how it senses if the headlights are on or off. There is a connection status page that should show you if the illum. signal if on or off. I would suggest checking this with the headlights on and off to see if the signal is present or not.
  19. Yeah just directly to the output on the C2R module. I wasn't able to easily crack the black inline holder open on that wire but my guess would be that it's just a fuse since the wire is intended to carry positive voltage for a distance. I would check for voltage on the reverse output wire directly from the C2R to make sure that it is actually providing it before digging into anything else too deep. Thanks for the tip about the isolator. I read the differential input statement about the RSE (rear seat entertainment) and it sounded like it was in reference to connecting the RSE output to con
  20. I just installed this weekend as well into a 2006 explorer with the same PAC adapter. I wired the reverse output from the PAC directly to the headunit and it worked just fine. I would imagine the CANBUS in your car is nearly identical. One problem I have run into though is in using the factory sub via the PAC interface. If you turn the volume up slightly where it gets loud the AVIC shuts down and restarts. I'm starting to wonder if there's some protection mechanism in the factory amp that sends a signal on the CANBUS to shut the radio down to prevent damage. I'm sure the factory nav deck had n
  21. Let us know if Pioneer honored the $200 rebate for buying from 6th Ave through Amazon. I just received mine today and the invoice inside the box was directly from 6 Ave with no reference to Amazon at all. To Pioneer it looks like you ordered directly from 6 Ave.
  22. I did the same yesterday. $913 + tax - $200 rebate is too good of a deal to pass up ! Now to get it installed and list my old avic-9dvd.
  23. They're actually showing $1200 after the rebate - not before. From their website - $1,199.99 After $200.00 Price Break and $200.00 Mail-in Rebate Adding to your cart shows a price of 1399.99
