T, are you a QA engineer at pioneer? My friend is a QA engineer there and said that the Z2 may be delayed past its original April deadline. He also said there was a bypass to it but he could not tell me what it was.

you need a crimp ( the metal piece at the end of the wire with a tooth like hook). You can buy these from many places, but you also need one of those crimping tools

the z1/z2 will not be able to play any files other than those that have been converted to dvd format. If you wait for the z2, it will come with much better navigation and year 2007 maps. Other than that, essentially the same

my friend works at pioneer and is a QA engineer for them. He says the Z2 blows the D3 out of the water. he also says that the Z series gets all the new technology, whereas the D series gets the old and true technology. He also stated that the Z series is very buggy now with the navigation and to expect that the Z2 will be pushed passed the april release date.

they are scammers. They do this with any item... even cars. They will sell a 3000gt VR4 for 2000 dollars when they usually sell for 14k. Dont waste your time. I followed up on one for fun. All they tell you to do is that they will tell some paypal person to contact you via email. First off, thanks for buying a Mitsubishi.I personally own 2 3000gts and love them. But to answer your question... If you are going to wait a couple weeks, why not get the Z2? It will have updated maps for the year 2007 (z1 has 2006), and other misc. software updates, and more accurate navigation To compare the Z1 to the factory nav 1) Z1 offers you 10 GB of music space (not in mp3 format. it can only rip wav files) 2) you could bypass the dvd function so that you do not need to be in park 3)it also has a 7'' monitor (but it is not removable so you have to watch out for theft) 4
