  1. I talked to Leetcoder about this, I doubt you will see any further work done or updates. He mentioned he is just too busy. He also talked about possibly releasing the source code. I wouldn't hold my breath. Too bad it would be cool have this completed. Oh well... Oh man, that is unfortunate. This had the potential to really do some damage.
  2. Read the whole thread - specifically, p.4. Page 4 only discusses the Hardware bypass, not the software. I am not aware of anyone trying that as of yet.
  3. I concur with the static, overall quite nasty/distracting. Also concur with the "Ok" button lags. Likewise with the Voice recognition, it has many issues recognizing what im saying where it once understood. IT wont recognize "Karen", seriously, the most important # The blutooth call i made had no issues, but it might have more to do with the reception of the 3g as opposed to the blutooth, but i could be wrong. Overall you have a very good analysis and I agree with almost everything.
  4. I also get that box, but i can live with it for these sweet boot times. My favorite part of the installation? I was able to listen to the FM radio while it was copying the files over. Sweet!
  5. I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Would you happen to know if my antenna is amplified? I'm new to all this, so I'm just trying to figure out how to get great reception. The only way anyone here would know anything like that is if they google it. It appears that you have alot of questions that not too many here would have answers to. I google everything i dont know, and ALWAYS find an answer. goto google.com and search for your answers, it will be much faster than getting a reply from us. Did you install it or have it installed? If it was done for you, take it back and have
  6. Its a possibility that could be it, although i cant say for sure because i have never needed one. This is the best fm tuning i have ever experienced. You should call pioneer and have them troubleshoot it for you.
  7. The supertuners are superb in the pioneers, thats a big bonus of this device. If yours doesn't sound good, you should check your antenna connection. Do you have an aftermarket antenna? Chances are, that if reception is a problem, that HDRadio wont be any better. It requires really good reception in order to open the digital stream.
  8. All of your questions regarding all hacks, can be found in the sticky at the top of the mods forum. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18327 Good luck
  9. you might as well get an SDHC card in case you need to upgrade the firmware. If it is already upgraded, you can use it for mp3's or vids. 16gb for $38 shipped http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820211245
  10. Use version 7 of the maps, dont change the folder name, make sure the maps are activated, and the root of the SD card is the first layer of folders. Like if you open the SD card in explorer, youll see a TomTom folder. The North America folder should be on the same level.
  11. Network buzz is dependent on both the pioneer and the cell phone manufacturer. Basically, both are to blame if you get it. I have the iphone 3g, and the buzz is subtle. It only buzzes when there is network interaction, not while stationary. Either way, my speakers are too loud for me to hear it most of the time anyway
  12. if your program can run from an SD card in CE, it *should* work. Read the "Guide to Mods" thread for details on how to get there, Good luck.
  13. Thanks for that. It also makes my point, so we both win yay! ...
  14. Go into testmode and make sure that the time is also set correctly within the CE OS. I believe i did this before the launcher was released.
  15. 1 Polyester Film 2 Upper Resistive Circuit Layer 3 Conductive ITO (Transparent Metal Coating) 4 Lower Resistive Circuit Layer 5 Insulating Dots 6 Glass/Acrylic Substrate 7 Touching the overlay surface causes the (2) Upper Resistive Circuit Layer to contact the (4) Lower Resistive Circuit Layer, producing a circuit switch from the activated area. 8 The touchscreen controller gets the alternating voltages between the (7) two circuit layers and converts them into the digital X and Y coordinates of the activated area. http://www.fastpoint.com/touchscreens/r ... reens.html
  16. Yes, it was showing the correct system time.
  17. Leet, Very nice work indeed. A few things.. After starting the launcher and going into the "Avic" side of things, If original iGo is launched, and then "Menu" hard button is pressed, the Launcher flashes for a split second then goes back to the map. After pressing a few more times, the taskbar from CE pops up below. I have found that neither the Avic Menu nor the Launcher will pop up at all when within the Avic selections, but works fine when on the main Avic menu. This is after following the sys.txt instructions. I hope that makes sense, PM if you need more clarification.
  18. You guys should not be giving this advice! There is a Resistive Touchscreen Membrane on TOP of the glass LCD screen. The screen itself is most likely not scratched, just the membrane. Contact Pioneer about a replacement touchscreen overlay.
  19. LOL Live.com cashback is very popular on the web right now. I almost used it myself but im not patient enough to wait 2 months for the rebate Nobody that asks you to take a look at it gets any kickbacks so it is not spam of any sort.
  20. I agree, the resistive touch screen is VERY thin and not designed for sandpaper repair.
  21. You made this work great! Only suggestion i would make, is to change out the spacers from that grey color matching the interior (the ones on the sides of the unit), to a spacer of a more black/glossy type plastic to match the pioneer unit. It would look less "rigged" that way. @lava10t2 Take that straight back to CC, their track record with installs is terrible to begin with and now you can see why. Get a manager involved if you can, that is just piss-poor installation. They probably didnt have the proper kit in stock to secure it to the din slot, and just half-assed it.
  22. The whole point of a beta is to give feedback of apparent issues. I dont think anyone is trying to bother him with their problems. I think he is benefiting from all the end-user response.
