  1. I'm still watching this thread too, I hope it's good news...
  2. I'm in the same boat on this one. I'm use to my Garmin Zumo pointing in the direction of the POI. It's nice not having the Gps route me in the reverse direction of travel. I have to see if the poi distance on the avic decreases as you drive, I've forgotten at this point.
  3. I use Handbrake and set it to Universal Ipod. It converts most media types and has a ton of output formats. It's also free.
  4. Any word yet? does it display the channel info??? I'm itching to pull the trigger on this.
  5. I had a problem with Bluetooth being disabled when I performed this mod. After a lot of trial and error I was finally able to re-enable it by changing the '749ew' to '746uc' line in sys.txt. 746uc is what is in my original file. I will play with this to confirm but it was the last thing that I did in order to fix this. I had thought that it was due to exchanging the placexxx.ui, settingxxx.ui, and speedcamxxx.ui while trying to enable the speedcam mod (while adding the txt files from the other mod) They have no effect on bluetooth. Hard and Soft resets did nothing either. I even tried to reloa
  6. Good lord yes, I definitely miss my remote. I'm getting use to it being gone but It use to be very convenient to turn my stereo down from outside of the truck if necessary. I also miss the Audio functions of my 9800bt also. But there is so much on the upside with the video and nav functions. Maybe they'll make an audiophile f-series in a few years, maybe I'll buy it. I'll always buy pioneer though, it's been that way for 20+ years of Loud@$$ stereos...
  7. Most folks here are hoping that it displays station info in the preset menu. That's the only ray of sunshine that it could bring. The p10hd does not and it's not known if it's the hd tuner or the radio's shortcomings.
  8. do you lose your radio station presets? If you do, I'd look at the yellow wire to make sure it's attached/secure. other than that I'm stumped.
  9. I pull them off of newsgroups that are on my isp's server. I use XNEWS. I'm pretty careful, no viruses in doing it this way over the past few years. A friend was not so lucky when he went for the 'Britney Spears Naked' thing.
  10. +1 '04 under the useless tray on the metal subframe. excellent reception even through the tunnels of Virginia.
  11. Same here but in addition my ipod does not charge all of the time. I know when it's low because it resets to playing all of the songs at random even though when I turn off the vehicle it is only playing random on one playlist or genre. I've had to bring it in the house in order to charge it. I think I'm going to try the Apple cable. oddly enough the ipod worked fine the first month I had it. When I take the ipod into work with me the battery lasts all day without issue.
  12. unfortunately you have to set the antenna to 'power' if you have an HD tuner installed or the antenna amp will not come on. This will leave the amp on at all times.
  13. Can you change bands? what about FM stations? Do you have HD too? You're talking about the map screen on the bottom right? If you just had it installed, hit the reset button and see if that clears up an install glitch. Then I'd check to see if the antenna cable is still installed. If you hit seek does it go directly back to 530? Sorry about the questions to your questions...
  14. I have one TS-SW1241D in a thin profile box under my rear seat in my 04' f150 supercrew. I have about 130watts RMS going through it. It is a little underpowered but the frequency response is nice and complements my components up front with my 6x8's in the rear door. I think I ebayed it and got it pretty cheap. It is sitting in about 4" of depth. The box is home built to maximize space. It only needs .5 cubic feet. My SCrew could of taken two of them but I did not want to relocate the Jack plus I only had one amp at the time.
  15. Sorry, I meant to say built by Pioneer themselves... One thread around here mentioned that the reason we don't get a list of stations in our preset menus is because Pioneer outsourced the Gex-10. The 2 new radios state that they can pull meta data off of songs playing on the air. Hopefully the new add-on unit will also as well as display correctly on the f90bt.
  16. there are 2 radios with hd built in now plus built in ipod control (deh-p401hd and 4001hd) Looks like the gex20hd might be home made although I have no data to prove that.
  17. I have the same setup and nope, no issues with the placement. signal strength is always green. (with mavericksters mods you can see it all of the time)
  18. when watching the movie, bring up the play/pause screen by tapping the screen. Then tap the arrow that faces to the right 3 times, you'll see it on one of the menu options.
  19. Maybe back in the ole' days... before kids and mortgages and all that
  20. Read my post... If I'm in the middle of a movie and I restart the car the movie continues on while it's rebooting and I lose 'some' time on it. In other words there is audio to the movie but no picture until you click 'okay' which you can't until the unit has finished booting. I can live with it because I'm going to have to. I would just like to know if anyone has tried to circumvent this 'annoyance' . This is the hack section isn't it?!? I mean seriously.....
  21. shennanigans the output voltage of the RCAs isn't a life altering thing, you will do fine even with 2.2s I have always gone with the higher voltage output pioneer head units because of the other feature sets involved with the head units themselves . I do like the voltage headroom when setting up the amps and the rest of the system but.... The f90bt and the f900bt are not audiophile radios like my 9800bt, or deh-p850 or deh-p860 where. The f90bt will give you higher voltage but no true way to take advantage of it. I think it was my 850 that came with a microphone that tuned each sp
  22. not to change the subject but... if you wire the constant power wire straight to the battery does it keep the unit from rebooting when you go from accessory to starting the car. This is a small annoyance but if it can be avoided... eg. watching a movie while waiting for someone, they come out start the truck and the system reboots because of the amp draw.
  23. so far so good... I like the traffic and the gas prices. The weather and the movie times aren't very necessary for me at this point but they work seamlessly. The traffic integrates with the map on most occasions, sometimes it's a little outdated when it comes to accidents. (about 30% and only because it keeps the warning after the accident has been cleaned up) The gas price check has been accurate and is neat. I can see my interest waining in it until I take a long trip. (hopefully under coverage) The weather is cool but doesn't usually match the radio weather, I just haven't had t
  24. My GPS receiver is directly above the radio attached to the metal subframe. My thinking is the huge amount of metal there aids in reception. There is no metal above the unit. I also put my mic in the same place that my previous mic was and that's at the top of the driver's side a pillar.
  25. On my DEH-p9800bt I could set the HPF for the front and rear full range speakers independently. This allowed for a fuller sound stage up front. before: Front 80hz (higher end component set) Rear 125hz (6x8 coax) Sub 80hz the 125hz to 80hz void with the rear speakers pulled the sound forward while still providing rear fill. I will be fine with the f90bt, I thought that there might be a way to do it because of the grayed out button. I just have to be careful because the rear 6x8s don't perform like the front component set. I may have to do 125 front and rear which will pull
