  1. if I remember correctly, the Z2 service manual in pdf format was posted here on the forum not that long ago. It consisted pretty much of Z1 service manual plus small addendum that reflects differences from Z1.
  2. You can also use a CDRB10 adapter - it's much less expensive but only can be used if you not using a CD changer.
  3. Here you go, looks like you have power antenna wire controlling your amp. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight=
  4. I don't think so... It just means that PE5511A is a microprocessor with 20 bit address bus and 16 bit data bus. I don't remember any x86 processor that had a 20 bit address bus. And it is made by Pioneer. And it's used in the DVD core unit - so it's a DVD controller/CPU, not the "system" processor we are looking for. So far I could not find it, looks like it resides on CC board for which there are no schematics provided. Not even a block diagram!
  5. Usually that happens if you have a factory or an aftermarket power amp and the power antenna turn-on wire (blue) is connected to an amp's power-on wire. To test this change Z2's settings for power antenna to be always on vs. on only in tuner (AM/FM) mode
  6. I think what he is saying, is that there is no connector in the harness... If that's the case - then it's not a problem, there never was one - people were taking an unused wire with a connector attached to it and just inserting it into empty placeholder in that harness.
  7. Then it does sounds like antenna amplifier power-on wire was not connected. I had same exact problem in my 2003 Maxima until I checked its wiring diagram and connected that wire. (There is a power antenna wire in Z1's harness that could be used for that purpose)
  8. Unbelievable, just plain unbelievable that there are still some people living on this planet who never heard of "Nigerian scam". I love those e-mails and fake auctions;) Here is a link to the Nigerian scam-biters site: http://www.419eater.com, go directly to the "letters" section - there are tons of histerically funny e-mail-dialogs with those scammers.
  9. Simply because seller wants to be contacted and process "transaction" via private e-mail - that's a sure sign. Few subtle ones: he mentioned that he will ship everything that came with the unit including remote - a remote was never included with z1. "Will ship discretely" - also sounds strange...
  10. [quote name="ducatiboy"]Here is something interesting. This bypass DOES NOT work with my March 06 unit... just my July 06 unit. The March 06 unit comes up with a "hey the parking brake is installed incorrectly" message in about 20 feet of motion. The July 06 unit let me drive around for 15 miles. The VSS wire and internal sensors initialized and put me into 3d hybrid. All the while with Blazing Saddles on the dvd player. I can't say that some time in the future this might not work. But it seems like the way to go. What's weird is that it doesn't work on the old units. Guess my circuit
  11. Is it possible that you pinched the mic cable somwhere?
  12. Actually, it's exactly the same system, I was using my GPS receiver in the whole Europe as well as in the USA - the only difference is maps...
  13. Ok, tried those AT3 files in SonicStage (which supposed to play all types of ATRAC3/ATRAC3plus files) - no luck. If they are really ATRAC-compressed files, then they are probably encrypted or the file headers were stripped...
  14. Oops, forgot to login - the previous post is mine;)
  15. Well, I'm just wondering: doesn't Z1 has to unlock its HDD while using it? If so, what about cutting power off completely (like disconnecting from car's battery) while unit is reading HDD (lets say playind a recorded track) and then pulling the HDD out - will it remain unlocked?
