  1. Dang...all the regulars have ~4k posts now. And here I am working on my first thousand.
  2. yeah, it wont matter if you have up to date maps. The Z1/Z2 will still ring about 200-300gt before your actual destination, which is fine for big palces, but for residential areas, it gets pretty annoying. I have tried many garmin units and they tend to be right on when it come to navigation. They may not look as nice, or have all the functionality, but they do navigate pretty well.
  3. Could you just burn them on dvds and distribute them? I am willing to pay for that service.

    Avic Story

this may have been your first post, but the word count in it was the equivalent of about 100 of my posts. I didnt bother reading it because it was too long, but i hope someone solved your issue.
  8. uh... spam? scam? not sure which, but definitely illegal stuff going on.
  9. yeah only way is for you to convert it to wav first, then it copies it and stores it in its own proprietary compressed file like an mp3 but different.
  10. why are you still responding to this thread?
  11. by any chance did you just burn the iso directly onto the cd, or did you open it with nero as an image and then burnt it

    Z1 Update

DAMN! I am not too far off that area. Scary to see how many people are from the same location.
  14. Please check the sticky in the hack/bypass section, Coocho!
  15. doesnt GM tie that chime noise with the factory radio? I dont know... maybe I am speaking out of my ass.
  16. Yes, it was a real pain in the but.. A lot of people got a piece fabricated, but it relocated or made some stuff disappear, like that little empty container underneath. Last time I was quoted on a piece like that it was 300-400 dollars. Not worth it. Plus I sold that car too.
  17. Ok, you said you did the update and you reset your unit. First, is your unit a z2? Second, did you do the two wire bypass as well? If you did the two wire bypass yourself, did you make 100% sure that the wire you moved AND the connector were BOTH seated firmly and securely? That would be where I would look. The ONLY reason this bypass shouldnt work is if the ground is not applied. The software itself, if burned correctly, works perfectly. The thing that puzzles me is that whenever it goes out i reset the unit and then it is bypassed again for a while. would this just be a loose wire?
  18. There are a couple of them on ebay if you get desperate. Has anyone actually completed a dowload of the discs and they have worked?
  19. I seriously doubt it. If you have to send your unit in for repairs, you're just sending the unit, not the wiring. As long as you were the one removing it, not a stereo shop, no one would know the difference. Nope. It shouldnt. Unlike the N series, which required you to remove a sticker, which in turned voided the warranty, the Z/D series only require you to ground a couple of external wires so your unit should still maintain the warranty.
  20. Could you tell us what you think is missing. I think that would be the best option.
  21. Yeah, it is there for liability purposes. All the navigation devices I have ever had makes to read that lwarning message prior to using it.
