  1. check the sensor learning status/driving status (system info>3d calibration status). you can also check the antenna connection status (sys info>connection status).
  2. thanks. yes any info you have about the z150 please post when you get a chance.
  3. So i saw the CES announcement of the AVIC-Z150BH and i will be purchasing it. According to the pio website and the manual it uses the SXV200V1 SiriusXM tuner which is some sort of hybrid service of both xm and sirius. I sold my Z130 last year, but kept the GEX-P920XM xm tuner because i planned on buying a new avic after CES and assumed it woud work (since it worked with the last 3 or 4 models). So my question is will the GEX-P920XM xm tuner work with the Z150BH? thx
  4. i attempted this on an 05 escalade. the wiring was available, but was too much of a hassle. i ended up using the mic that came with avic. i ran the cable up the apillar and clipped it on the drivers side visor. that was definitely a better position than where the onstar mic is at on the escalade. if you really, really, really want to use the onstar mic, you will need the wiring diagram for your vehicle and you will need to cut/splice wires.
  5. the picture you have highlighted is a harness for the aswc. the newer metra interfaces includes this harness for easier wiring with the aswc because it is common to use a steering wheel controller when replacing the factory hu. you do not need any of the wires coming off of the aswc harness (harness with 1/4" stereo jack) unless you are installing an aswc as well. the black/yellow wire with the bullett connnector is for adjusting the onstar volume by applying it to ground. there are 4 levels. read the install manual. it is very straight forward.
  6. are you using the gmos-04? because from my testing, the avic-z130 isnt' the one that shuts down, its the GMOS-04. this has even been verified from metra tech support.
  7. also when the mute wire is removed, what the GMOS-04 does when you press the onstar button is completely cut audio from the radio and onstar plays through the front left speaker as normal. so even without the mute wire connected, onstar still works.
  8. i have verified that it is indeed the GMOS-04 attenuating the AVIC-Z130. Today i turned the car on and proceeded to remove the dash on the escalade. After about 3 minutes the avic started attenuating. after i removed the dash i unplugged the mute wire (i used bullet connectors for this wire because of this problem) and voila, the avic stopped attenuating. i have not used other metra interfaces but after all of this trial and error i can say if you do use the Metra GMOS-04 with any radio keep the following in mind: Do not connect the mute wire to your radio's harness. Your radio w
  9. depending your where your factory xm tuner all you would need is an extension cable.
  10. i have the bose system and all wiring is correct here's a video that shows the issue and 5 mins later issue stops: http://www.youtube.com/user/franknitty69#p/a/u/0/DlR9B7f7r5s
  11. not sure what the toyota uses (smb, fakra, etc), but you can find any adapter at TSS. i know for certain GMC, they use the standard fakra connector which plugs right into a pio xm tuner. http://www.tss-radio.com
  12. brand spanking new gmos-04 build date 5/??/11. avic-z130bt wires were cut from the old harness and soldered to the new one. worked fine for about 5 mins and then the problem returned. i believe that it is the gmos-04 muting the avic and not the avic muting by itself (i.e. for thermal reasons). it got dark so i had to quit for the day. tomorrow i'm chopping the mute wire. i'll report back.
  13. i have the same issue. i am on interface #3 (gmos-04). the first two were used, so i'll cut metra some slack. i'm installing today and will report back. if the issue keeps coming back, then i will snip the brown mute wire (i'm not using it for bypass). if the problem still continues, then it's actually the unit going into ATT on its own and not from a mute signal.
  14. i just installed an avic-z130 in a cadillac escalade using the GMOS-04. the blue/white wire of the avic needs to be connected to the blue/white wire on the 14-pin harness of the gmos-04.
  15. well pioneer has a placeholder on their site with a countdown. so i guess we will see. "Get Yours Junes 22, 2011" http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/AppRadio
  16. yes. that is the only way to see the currently playing source. with the avic you are either at the home screen, map screen or av source screen. when navigating a route, the only option to see the av source screen is the on the very bottom or switch the av screen. when you are in the map screen, the button on the bottom will display artist/song info and you can click the icon to go the av screen. and when you are in the av screen the turn screens will automatically be displayed and then go back to the av screen.
  17. just bought mine from ebay (online car stereo) for $939. free shipping, no tax and an extra 8% in ebay bucks for using IE9. I received a total of $99 in ebay bucks. also i sold my avic-z110/120 for $600 so it ended being a really sweet deal.
  18. avic feeds app on the iphone has been crashing for about 3 or 4 versions now, rendering the app useless. even with the latest update sometime this month (5/2011) it crashes when you try to save a poi or access the list. the only way i've gotten avic feeds to work on a z-110/120 was to use the pc app and save POI's to an sd card. after i did that, i enabled custom poi's on the z-110/120 and was able to use the avic feeds button.
  19. Can't speak on the backup camera, but as far as steering wheel control i recently switched to the Metra Axxess ASWC instead of the PAC. The metra axxess ASWC is waaay better than the PAC. Simple connection, self-service updates, auto vehicle recognition, auto radio recognition and full manual programming. http://www.axxessinterface.com/steering_wheel_control_new.aspx
  20. My GPS antenna was from one of the old avic's and had a different plug end. So i removed the plastic plug end and just plugged the GPS antenna into an AVIC-Z110 without the end. This worked fine for me but now i want to sell the Z110 and i wanted the new owner to have the proper plug end. Does anybody have a extra one (maybe from a damaged GPS antenna or something)? I prefer to find an extra one rather than purchasing a whole new GPS antenna. Thanks
  21. the iphone will stop charging once it reaches a certain voltage level. the iphone also has several sensors (thermal, etc) that will stop it from charging as well.
  22. dope. and if you are android, i'm afraid you are assed out. i have done dev for iphone and android and the amount of resources required to dev motion x for android would exceed profit.
  23. did you use a wiring harness like a metra or schosche?
  24. damn yo, you should've asked on here before you sent it off to pioneer. i'm sure your issue would've been resolved.
