  1. wrong testmode. You need testmode.key for f920+ and f10+ supertestmode.zip
  2. make sure bluetooth is set to ON in previous menu. This one stumped me for a while too.
  3. then this procedure is not for you. Sorry, but it's really the case here. Would recommend purchasing F940BT/EU5

  5. use this one: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/GPS-Navigation/AVIC-X930BT?tab=firmware
  6. you did not give enough details for anyone to be able to answer you. are you trying to play video files on sd card, dvd, etc? what are the complete details of the video? format, bitrate, codecs, etc. Hint: use "ffmpeg -i VIDEOFILE" or mediainfo to get the full details and put them in pastebin.ca or here. Only certain low specifications of video formats can be played on these units. They are not blu-ray players or dual-core PCs.
  7. download the update from pioneer website. what is in the AVICZ110\PRG folder goes into USER\PRG0 or PRG1 on the unit
  8. no, once you modify apllib.dll to the desired device type id (see the restoring vr challenge thread), you can install the CNSD-310FM/EU5 update directly using the normal upgrade method. You would then need to re-download and re-edit apllib.dll afterwards again, to set it back to the desired device type you want. Read and discuss on the restore vr challenge thread. Also read the AU maps thread where jock and ralpharn have done this for AU.
  9. no. you might be able to setup something to use the wired remote control feature to switch inputs, but nothing to switch directly to a given aux in when a wire is signaled
  10. try hybrid 4.001 guide. it has very minimal mods - nothing fancy, very close to stock - based upon last available software release from pioneer. according to others its the fastest response time wise. However, it wont be fast as the newer models (x920+, z110+)
  11. 940 is latest model, with latest 2012 maps. There are no upgrades besides the minor update to 4.01 on pioneer website, but that is just a few bug fixes. hackmode is so you can run your own apps, or whatever on the unit. I have seen too many people have trouble with hackmode - so would suggest you stay away unless you know what you are doing and what you really want to accomplish.
  12. I dont think so. Iphone 4 upgraded to ios 6, and advanced appmode still worked on x930 - I believe the advanced appmode requires video out inorder to function (display on the screen).
  13. you can buy the EU maps, but you will need to make a minor change (to cardinfo.cif) to get it to install on your unit, and then another slight mod to apllib.dll to fake the software into thinking it's an EU unit instead of US. That will sort of work, but then you still probably wont get EU tuner steps. I haven't tried it but theoretically, you would need to make some hardware changes (moving resistors around) on the internal boards to really make it a true EU unit.
  14. which languages the unit can choose from seems to be hardcoded into the code, tied to the region. You may have to trick it by renaming language, strings, TTS, VR, etc to one of the existing languages.
  15. I dont have any files. You will have to find those for yourself.

it would probably involve hardware modification, taking the unit apart and moving resistors around. So basically - no
  17. x940 is dual-zone, you can play a dvd on rear video outputs while viewing nav on Head unit. It is only dvd though - video from SD card will not work on dual-zone
  18. you did not look very hard. no answers for you find your own answers in hacks/mods forum hint: dont post asking for maps - read the threads that have guides in them!
  19. yes - same software as F900BT.
  20. read the thread i linked to. this means you have some corrupted files on your update. maybe bad card, maybe bad update. download update again, try new sd card, try again
  21. no - you dont run the updater again. You upgrade the bluetooth from settings, bluetooth settings, firmware menu. But if you don't see current firmware version, do cold-reset like i mentioned earlier
  22. the new bt firmware is part of this update in the FIRMWARE folder. Just do a cold-reset of your unit. Remove all power, i.e., pull radio fuse and/or disconnect BUP (yellow) and ACC (red) power for at least 30 seconds.
