fklentz
I'm patient and will wait until I can find an image, I'm only hoping that the Z3 image will make my navtraffic work like my original Z1 image did.
rebel97
Responding to an earlier post: Since you wont be useing the image in the unit itself, the HD doesn't have to be the same. I can cloan the Z3 image to almost any HD of at least 40gig or more (IDE,SATA, or a laptop HD). Then you would be able to get it to someone who can get it posted for everyone to have. I do have the image and willing to share it. All I need is a way to get it where its needed.
medic14
Well the drive came today with nothing on it, emailed and I'm getting a new one sent to me express. He said there were a bad batch of drives that didn't get the image.
suzook
I do have the image and willing to share it. All I need is a way to get it where its needed. Â why not share it on bitorrent? i am sure everyone will jump in.
Z1 newbie
I do have the image and willing to share it. All I need is a way to get it where its needed. Â why not share it on bitorrent? i am sure everyone will jump in. Because the Rebel is set up for drive cloning and not for extracting an image. I'm surprised that no one has taken him up on his kind offer yet. If I was in the US I'd have sent a drive to him when he first offered. (Turn around from Canada has been between 2 and 5 weeks with brokerage fees both ways).
medic14
Ok, I got the new drive today and it went in great. Only question are these numbers. Â Plateform 2.000400 GPS 1.20000 HDD Application 2.130000 Â Are these numbers right for a Z3? Â The maps are updated from what I saw playing around with it. The splash screen says rel. 2/2008 Â What going on with this? It's working fine, but is it what I paid for?
MPS
i love it how there is like 10 members with this HD and no 1 wants to share
medic14
I don't think this is the right setup, if I knew how to share I'd try but I have no idea, that's why I bought this.
medic14
I did what you said and it says this.  Platform version: 3.000100  Gps Program version: 1.200000  HDD Application Version: 3.100200   Hope this is what you were asking for, now can someone tell me what this means?  So why aren't my numbers the same as above, what do mine mean?   Plateform 2.000400 GPS 1.20000 HDD Application 2.130000
Hyperite
So why aren't my numbers the same as above, what do mine mean?  Plateform 2.000400 GPS 1.20000 HDD Application 2.130000 pretty sure that's Z2 versions

Passat 05
I did what you said and it says this.  Platform version: 3.000100  Gps Program version: 1.200000  HDD Application Version: 3.100200   Hope this is what you were asking for, now can someone tell me what this means?  So why aren't my numbers the same as above, what do mine mean?   Plateform 2.000400 GPS 1.20000 HDD Application 2.130000  Since almost no one here has a Z3, the best anyone can do is take a guess for you. My guess would be that your hard drive has the map update but not the full Z3 update. I think you can buy a disc to update the map in older versions. We'll know more once some one donates the image of that hard drive. If you don't know how to extract the image then I'm sure that AFMAGNUM would walk you through it. Passat 05
i love it how there is like 10 members with this HD and no 1 wants to share Sooner or later someone will. There's no rush though, as I understand it, the difference is so small that the benefits will again be barely noticeable.
medic14
Ok so I got more info, I was told that the HDD has 4 partitions and in order for the updates of the Z3 to work on the new HDD, a hybrid of Z1, Z2 had to be made. Unless someone has a Z3 HDD and clones it, this is what you get. Don't know if thats the only way to do it, but all the Z3 functions are available. The Version is 03.0000 but the other numbers are due to hybrid making. I don't have a clue when it comes to programing this stuff.
