speters02
Is there a pdf of the operations manual yet? I'd be interested in reading it and I suspect it would eliminate a lot of simple questions.
bobsyouruncle
English version for Europe is available now. No US user operation manual yet, that I have seen. http://www.service.pioneer-eur.com/pees ... 0BT-EN.pdf Hopefully the link works. If not, just go to http://www.service.pioneer-eur.com/pees ... h?openform and search for 900bt.
Tycho81
many thanks for the link. should answer most questions. A+ for a QWERTY keyboard!!! best new feature! I'll miss the button press map<->AV source switch from the D3 though.
jwq
Pitty that, according to the manual, the dynamic volume only applies to the voice prompts... I just looked through all 115 pages and couldn't find where this was detailed. Can you describe what this function is supposed to do? I'm guessing it sets the level of voice prompts relative to the overall volume of the music. According to the manual, page 102: Dynamic Volume Increases and decreases the master volume of the navigation guidance and beep automatically according to the current speed. This function is very helpful when you are driving at high speed and there is too much noisy to hear the guidance instructions and beep.
skicrave
Yes! Thank you jwq! That is one of the biggest issues I had with my Z2. As long as the route guidance works better than the Z/D, I think Pioneer has addressed all of the little UI/functionality issues with the F-Series.

speters02
I saw somebody posted a message saying you could use an SD card up to 32Gb. However, in the 900BT manual it says: SD Compatible physical format - Version 2.00 Max capacity memory - 8Gb File System - FAT16, FAT32 Decoding format - MP3/WMA/AAC/WAVE/MPEG4
mikeinnj
On page 59 of the user manual, the thing also reads text messages aloud using text to speech.
Performance Audio
I know you can switch between the splash screens but does it allow you to import a custom one?
Performance Audio
My girlfriend has a new Ford with Micorsoft Sync in it and after watching the video I've come to realize that this new series is based on Sync. Pioneer makes the head unit for the new Fords with Sync

However, in the 900BT manual it says: SD Compatible physical format - Version 2.00 Max capacity memory - 8Gb File System - FAT16, FAT32 Decoding format - MP3/WMA/AAC/WAVE/MPEG4 It also says it DOES NOT support SDHC, which is a big downer. I thought non SDHC cards only came in sizes of 2gb maximum.

whtcrxghst
Why are you looking for compact flash cards instead of SD cards? You are mistaken. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820171355 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208337 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211244 Just a few examples of what's out there. I just feel obligated to point out that your 3 referenced links are for CF (compact flash) cards, not SD (Secure Digital) cards. They are different. And it is true that Standard SD maxes out at 2GB. You need SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) to exceed 2GB. The United States Manual for the 900BT says it supports a max of 8GB SDHC (aka version 2.0)
