Just for kicks, could you please insert a CD or DVD with MP3's on it or an SD card with MP3s on it to see how the interface presents the track list. A screen shot would be great.

As promised, here are the first two videos of the AVIC-F90BT! I will probably record one or two more, like a highway and downtown one, but I'm open to suggestions.

You will need quicktime to view these movies. (Full Quality)

City Navigation/Voice Command/iPod/XM: http://avic411.com/files/CityDemo.m4v (175MB)

Demo of MSN Direct: http://avic411.com/files/MSNDirect.m4v (25MB)

cool vids.

What local radio station has the MSN feeds? I noticed your signal was kinda low.... and I drive in that area a lot (live in the same county).

Our Pioneer dude said there is a "POI ON ROUTE" button. Should only look for POI towards your destination instead of behind you like the D series did

How is the POI search? Does it search by distance this time?

I'm guessing when she says "Drive 3 comma 8 miles" that its set for Europe. I assume it'll say "point" instead of "comma" for us, just to clarify.

Also, I dont see a mute button for the navi voice, am i missing it?

Was it my imagination or did the nav anounce miles wierd? Like 1.5 miles being announced as "one comma five miles".

Yeah, the unit does say "one comma five miles". I can't seem to find any way to change it.

Back to the POI. What I wanna really know is does ALL of the POI have their own logo's or is it like the D3 where only a few have their logo's showin and the rest just all use a "dummy" logo???

I also wonder if the D3 upgrade will get some of these features... Prolly not but it dont hurt to wish on things :P :P :P
I don't eva fold a map up, WACK schmuck, navigation in a black truck.

JasonH,

I noticed the back of the AVIC-90BT has a digital output. Can you tell me if this digital output is compatible with the Bose Amplifiers found in the Mercedes' line of vehicles. As I understand it, these amplifiers take a fiber optic medium from the receiver. I have a 2003 Mercedes clk430 cabriolet, and I am eagerly anticipating the release of the 90BT. :D

Adding one more question to the mix. Have you found the optimum image size for the splash screen wallpaper. I know that the screen size is 800x480 but when I cropped some of my wallpapers to that size in Photoshop, they come out looking a little too narrow and not wide enough to properly and proportionately fill the 16x9 screen.

Is there any way to make her stop dictating the rout on the way, not just muting but turn her off so I can listen to my music without interuptions. Then is there any way to make her not repete what you say when you are using the voice recognition? and finaly is there any way to turn off the blings and dings that are made when you push any button on the unit? I just want to have nav in case I get lost, and have a current eta time, not to yell at me on the stupid shit. Oh and at 10:26 on you'r city demo was that siren coming from the unit or somewhere else, if it did come from the unit please tell me you can deactivate that, unless it is imporntant, like telling you that someone is shooting at you. Thanks, and great review, but still looks like there is a delay with everything just like the Z2. Oh I forgot to ask, can you use your own jpegs/gifs for backgounds?
