AVIC "F" Series Bypass (Picture Guide)

Recommended Posts

I am in the middle of attempting the Hardware Mod. I have found and moved the Yellow Mute wire, but I do not have a light green wire going to the other (Black) connector. I see the two green speaker wires and I have another green wire (same color green as the speaker wires). Does anyone have a picture of the connector so I can figure out which one is the PB wire? Disconnecting the green wire I do have doesn't affect the PB at all! :(

What is the point of the "read before posting" posts if no one reads or searches them?

are there different versions of this?

because whoever bypassed it for me before was working until the new firmware

Completely wild guess? Somebody did the software bypass so it was cleared with the firmware change. Search for software hack and you'll find more info about re-applying it.

Parking brake needs to be grounded plus -either- software hack or move and ground the mute wire. I suspect yours had the software hack, and that it was cleared in the firmware upgrade. You can either redo the hack or pull the radio out and move/ground the mute wire. The easiest would be the software change.
