oneyozfest182
Depending on the model of your AppRadio 1: 2.63 for the SPH-DA01 4.16 for the SPH-DA02 I'm running 2.63. Is there any difference between DA01 & DA02? Looks like they just changed the home button from a square to four squares; wondering if it was just a move to avoid a lawsuit with Apple, or just changed it to transition to the AppRadio 2 with Android support, (maybe wanted to slowly become less Apple-specific). On that note, though very random & off-topic, I wonder what enticed Apple to choose a square. Because the home icons are square? Seems kind of a silly reason, but I can't think of any others. i thought you migth like to know you can get a Pioneer SPH-DA02 AppRadio unit for $140 at http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130APPRAD2/Pioneer-SPH-DA02-AppRadio.html?tp=5684 Adrian, I knew about that. That's a crazy good deal. I got a DA01 for $100 off CraigsList and already had all the wiring I needed, but other than that $140 is the best deal you can get. Sometimes they have Scratch & Dent as well, (they do now), but it doesn't come with the free wiring: http://outlet.crutchfield.com/p_130APPRAD2/Pioneer-SPH-DA02-AppRadio.html?cc=07&tp=5684

AppRadio 2 is expandable. It came out before the iPhone 5 but you can get a kit to add support, and hopefully with future phones as well. The AppRadio 1, however, is essentially a standing duck now and will not progress any further in terms of new hardware support. The AppRadio 2 also has a larger screen and stuff but the biggest difference is just it's future ability to expand.
mikedecaro
Hi mike just sent a couple of tweets can you see it makes sense I'm hopefull Do you mean the StayOpened app? Does it keep the app on the head unit while other apps are running?

If we are talking about the same stayopen cydia tweak, it looks like that one only works with the appstore, to keep it opend intead of taking you to the home screen after you hit install on an app, not the same

That was an iOS 5 tweak though iOS 6 does that anyway so maybe you & I are both missing something brother.

Honestly I have no idea about any of the other units that support Advanced App mode. I don't need a CD player or anything else literally just iPhone support, so the AppRadio is the only one I've followed.

That's how I feel as well, I didn't do much research before buying my unit if I had I would of boght appradio by it self because I do not use the cd or dvd player at all, and hat switching from regular radio to appradio mode, so I am looking into replacing my unit installed 2 months ago for an appradio 2... Tomfoolery82
Does anybody have a developer account? If so just build a simple calculator app submit to app then once approved submit to pioneer and down load the API and send it to mike. Thats how he can get the API. I would do it but I don't have an account.

I had this one in my old car http://www.oxygenaudio.com/o-line/363-o-car.html It was perfect. but not so good sound quality than Appradio without amp, etc. The screen size was not a problem.
