And the rest is history. I decided to go with the 8000nex because it looks crisp, sharp, beautiful, and the UI is insanely fast. Hasn't lagged one bit. Love the navigation. Works great. Love the fact that you set profiles. It's an amazing unit. Everyone has mixed feelings on the USB and Bluetooth connectivity. AppRadio isn't great. I thought I would be WOW'D but I'm not. Don't see myself using it. I

I think its pretty straight forward. Just match the colors to the harness. In my case i have a chrysler. my Vehicle Speed Pulse wire on harness is pink. On the radio is white and purple. Just make sure to connect the wire to get an accurate speed reading.

you need an original apple charger $19.99 (or free when you purchase the phone). Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter $49.00, and a $3.00 HDMI cable from amazon. Its either $72 purchasing all these items or $52 for just the cable and adapter. But either way its good to have. APP RADIO sucks. Dont see my self using it either

Yea the brightness is insane. Looks great in the daytime and at night. But in my truck the brightness dim with the DRL set to Auto. Dims at night and brightens in the daytime

Hell yea. Amazing, sharp, crisp, beautiful. Very responsive and fast and not that LCD crap. I think its worth it. Shop around. You can probably get it for the same price as the 7000NEX

AVH uses the micro bypass or a double pulse relay switch. Remember unit doesnt have NAV to see if the vehicle is in motion'

Not sure if anyone answered this question. Yes the disable still works after disconnecting the battery. I have tried a few times and have resetted the unit a few times. The parking break bypass will still be enabled. Maybe it the battery is disconnected for a extensive amount then maybe.

The NEX does airplay. Next time you get a call pull up your settings bar on the iphone and AIRPLAY will be highlighted. It will AVIC-8000NEX, IPHONE, or IPHONE SPEAKER. havent tried it with music yet. Ill check in a few when im on my break
