I finally got my relay bypass removed on my Nex8000. I had the unit grounded to the parking brake and enabled the software bypass and can confirm GPS and Video works while in motion. -
and the rest of us Nex owners are extremely happy with our purchases Nex 8000

I took the green cable about 1' from where it come out of the plug, stripped it clean for about 1/4" and did the same to the black wire. Then I soldered these two wires together and warp it with heat shrink Wrap. Any other spots what could be better to connect the green to the ground, I'll appreciate your response, Thanks Bert I think the way to go is to follow DJR's lead and ground the unit as Pioneer wants it and use the software hack. As far as I can figure the unit looks for 2 pulses to recognize and pass the signal to enable Apps, so unless any added brake relay is programed to -

What is the limit, I put about 900 gb of music and video files on a 2 tb wd passport drive(NTFS)... it took 6.5 hrs to index, I got to play 1 song and it went back to re-indexing. -
No Issue latest map here Q4 2013 either route or just on map ant mounted within car on dash driver side near tweeter using the small square of metal sticker 2004 RSX no probs

I was able to finally finish the 2013 Q4 update this past Thursday night via the usb cable. Kinda lame that 2013 Q4 is the most up to date Pioneer is making available.

Had my screen replaced due to a deep scratch at a recognized Pioneer service shop. Total cost was $270 parts and labour. Thought someone might run in the same problem and be curious of the replacement cost. Nex 8000
