  1. On the 8100 it is in the GPS settings, in the Warnings. Check your manual.
  2. Be careful of what you find on Amazon claiming to be a CD-RM10 and read the reviews before selecting one. I ordered something that claimed to be a CD-RM10, but was not. The wire patern on the tip was incorrect, with the ground in the wrong place, making it unusable.
  3. Standard iPhone troubleshooting steps for non-App specific problems, testing after you do each one and stopping if it fixes it: 1. Restart the phone. 2. Use iTunes to restore the phone, including restoring the backup. 3. Use iTunes to restore the phone, excluding restoring the backup. If it was App specific, you would delete and reinstall the App between 1 and 2 What has likely happened is that something went wrong with the 8.4 update and the software is corrupted, and the whole thing needs to be reloaded to clean it up. You probably won't need to perform step 3, as step 2 fixes
  4. Do you have the amps wired directly to the battery, or through the vehicle wiring? If they are direct to the battery as well, you might want to have your battery checked.
  5. The key thing on aftermarket head units in newer cars is the vehicle integration adapter. If you can't get one of those for your specific year, make and model, then it will be difficult at best to install. The three big players I know about in the adapter market are Pac Audio, iDataLink, and Axxess. You first need to make sure that they even support your car. Once you've done that, do more reasearch and find out what functions work, and what doesn't. Don't just rely on the manufactures to tell you what does and doesn't work, check reviews and vehicle specific forums for information. To
  6. You likely will NOT be able to use the factory Mic. Those tend to be specifically designed for the car/factory radio combination and don't play well with other radios.
  7. It is the exact same way that has been used before, nothing new.
  8. You will be splicing wires. Solder and heat shrink is recomended. DO NOT TWIST AND TAPE! Read the installation manuals on both the PAC and the Pioneer, and make yourself a chart of what colors attach to what colors before you start. They don't allways match. Manuals can be downloaded from http://pac-audio.comand http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ As for what cables, it all depends on what you want to do and what space you have. You do NOT need to buy the Pioneer branded cables. Watch these for good information on the 4100: General info (20 min): Android Auto (10 min): Mirr
  9. If you just pulled the old radio out, and are trying to connect straight to the existing wires, it won't work. You need an interface between your car and the new radio. Pac-Audio RP4-CH11 http://pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=1116&CategoryID=26 or Maestro RR http://maestro.idatalink.com/product/product/product_id/102 or the Axxess one.
  10. 8100 has similar typing issues, and you still need the PC to update maps.
  11. Largest supported, but not the largest that works. Normally, anything over 32 GB is not formatted FAT32. Reformat the larger card as FAT32, and it should work.
  12. If it is connected to the SWC input, you would only get SWC. If connected to the idatalink port, you get the SWC and the other functions the idatalink supports for your vehicle/head unit combo. In the Chrysler 200, that is UConnect, and the source is output to the EVIC display. I don't know if the Pioneer supports source data output. Not certain which UConnect functions would work, so there might be no difference if it was connected to the idatalink port in this case. Other than the install indicator showing OK.
  13. Your device does not support AVI. For MPEG4, the file extension must be .mp4, not .m4v which is the Apple version. Your unit also supports .wmv files. The files can't be copy protected. Make sure the USB stick is formatted fat32. Not certain which of the forums your unit is discussed, so can't point you where some who has you unit might be more helpful.
  14. Total guess: they connected the maestro to the steering wheel control input, not the idatalink port of the 8000.
  15. With the song playing, press "Func." to the right of the blue time bar to get to the Shuffle (crossing zigzag arrow), Repeat (oval arrow), etc. buttons. If there is a little 1 by the repeat, you have it set to repeat just the one song.
  16. Direction of travel is one of the items you can dispaly in the Display Data section of the map screen (left side, middle), at least when you don't have an active route. See page 67 of he manual.
  17. The only setting I can think of that would be causing this is the "off road" setting. If that is set correctly to not use off road, then contacting Pioneer is what you will need to do.
  18. Acording to the @PioneerUK twitter feed, the company that makes the Navigation software is actually to blame for the delay, and they keep missing deadlines. https://twitter.com/PioneerUK/status/598040652048408576 https://twitter.com/PioneerUK/status/606837311448457217 I can't find the source, but I remember seeing somewhere that the release of iOS 7 (yes, seven) was a cause of some early delays.
  19. The "Voice" steering wheel control function is what launches Siri, and the CD-SR11 has a Voice button.
  20. Per Apple, Carplay is for iPhones only.
  21. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/UnAssigned-Content/AVICSYNC "March 9, 2015 Dear Valued Pioneer Customer: We would like to advise you regarding the AVICSYNC feature, a subscription-based connected service planned for Pioneer NEX models with embedded navigation, which is described in the Operations Manual. With a connected smartphone and paid subscription from a third party provider, AVICSYNC would provide a simplified interface for accessing traffic, local search, weather, and gas prices. Unfortunately there has been a delay in the availability of AVICSYNC services that has run
  22. I don't have a guide, but you would need to connect the Reverse signal line on the 8100 to something that is at 12 volts when the turn signal is on. That is what causes the 8100 to switch to the camera input automatically. Note: this will cause problems with the Navigation, as it uses the Reverse signal.
  23. DO NOT BUY BYPASS HARDWARE!!!!! Connect the parking brake wire correctly. The bypass is done with software only on current NEX units. Follow the instructions, skipping step 1, in the bypass sticky thread at the top of the forum. http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38589-official-avic-nex-bypass-avic-units-only/
