1. I figured it out. You have to download Pioneer's "AVIC Feeds" program. I thought that was only for smart phones but it turns out that it's also for the home computer. Downloaded it and I can now see "gasmileage.DAT" but I'm a bit disappointed that it only saved the last entry. It didn't log each individual fill up but overwrote each previous entry every time.
2. I have the X930BT in my car. It has the option of calculating/logging gas mileage. You enter how much gas costs, volume filled and kilometers driven and it then gives you L/100 kms. Fairly straight forward calculation and that's not the issue. On the gas mileage screen there is an "export to SD" button to save it on the card. I did that for a few months and now that my car is in storage for the winter I tried to upload them to my computer. On the card is a .DAT file. My computer (Windows 7) and my girlfriend's computer (some sort of newer MAC) don't know what to do with the file. I Googled a l
3. I tried Googling this and it's surprising how little information there is on my issue. I'm looking for a double DIN navigation system (any make really but I prefer Pioneer) that can output the navigation source to a "rear" monitor but still have A/V screens up front. The set-up I'm going to have in my car is like the first one pictured below. The "rear" monitor is the one in the Honda display pod and the actual source unit is below the climate controls. My ideal goal would be to have navigation in the top screen and have my XM screen on the main unit. That is all I want. It doesn't matter
4. Last night someone stole the full stereo out of my dad's 2004 F-350 Diesel. Happened after 2 am in his "secure" underground parking lot in the North side of Edmonton (Oxford). They were very professional in the job as they didn't break any plastic clips or cut any harnesses. I'll post some pictures up a little later but in the mean time, if someone notices a Pioneer AVIC-D1 for sale which has no box and a handwritten 2007 navigation disc it's ours.
5. Does it still have the memo function for songs like the D3? Also can you post a picture of the screen shot for XM?
6. OP: can you post a picture of what the XM screen looks like? Just various channels. Is it worse/better than the D3 interface? Or is it unchanged?

Updating?

Do you have satellite radio? If so then that is what's doing it. If not then I don't know.

D 4 IS HERE!!!!

Damn, I fell for it.
9. ^^Yes, channel zero then wait for it to scroll. Get a paper and pen ready so you can write it down as it scrolls. You can't see all the numbers at once. In XM you can.
10. You will lose most of your display functionality like has been said above. The D3 interface is world's better then the other D series units though. At least you get a memo button.
11. ^^I trust that speedo more then my car one as well. OP, like has been said above you needd to hook up the GPS antenna. They're cheap. Something like $30 in the classified's.
12. Any electronics retail store that has a car audio shop will carry the kits. Or you can buy from the US's beloved crotchfield.
13. Thanks esteefly. I assume you can venture an educated guess as to what car this engine is from :)
14. Can someone make a proper size of the picture below to suit the D3. As little distortion as possile.
15. I don't want to start a new thread so I'm going to continue this one. Long story short, is the Z2 power harness the same as the D1 power harness? I know the N series is the blue one and is different but I'm not sure about the D/Z series.
16. Don't know how much the N1 is worth. Mine crapped out so Best Buy exchanged it for me. If you want better navigation then don't bother with the D3. I had the N1 with the N3 map disks. The mapping on the D3 is minimally better. Now if you're talking about interfaces (sat radio, I-Pod) then yes, the D3 is infinitely better. I have both XM and Sirius on the D3 and love it. The interface is actually acceptable now. Can't say much about I-Pods since I don't like those things but I have heard good things about the interface.
17. Yes, the antenna is identical. I just replaced my N1 for the D3. The reverse, speed sense and gps all plugged right in. You will have to wire your D3 harness to your car and as said above, no brain (but still same function as the N1) to wire in.
18. I have both XM and Sirius on my D3. You can have both with no problems. Just follow the hook up directions in proper sequence and you'll be fine. XM has a better interface but the Sirius improved GREATLY from when I had my N1.
19. Not that I've found. I doubt you can. Only XM so far.
20. ^^They are NOT exactly the same. On the N3 you have a one line display. On the Z2 you have the artist and song name as well as the station logo's. And you also have the memo button up to 12 songs I think it is. I'm going by my D3 interface which I was told was similar to the Z series. You'll find it's a HUGE upgrade over any N series unit.
21. You could use the antenna wire if you wanted to but your amp would only be on when your tuner is on (FM radio). If you switch to a different source such as CD or satellite radio then your amp would turn off. You wouldn't do any damage at all.
22. Here's what the two screens look like in a Maxima. They honestly don't look that bad together. I wouldn't worry about it. And yes, all the climate and distance stuff is running through the OEM screen.
