Here on the Z series, the top of the map is the direction you are facing and thus the 2D map rotates to whatever direction you are facing. JamesAv07, are you saying that the F-Series does not have 2D maps that show in directional mode? (Meaning the top of the map is the direction you are headed) I mean i like the option on the Z3 where you can change your 2D maps from North up or Direction up.

Despite the higher resolution on the F-series, screen size is a deal breaker for me and I love the huge 7 Inch LCD on the Z3. I like all around features of the Z3 and the F-series is plagued with too many bugs right now.

I too wish some new features would be added to the possible Z4. But I think it would require a hardware change, and some changes may be able to be done via a Simple Update DVD for Z3 owners.

IC, but you understand that you can still operate the camera without the module right? You tap into the reverse lights for power and ground. I think its something to try because if your camera works fine this way, you know its the module. If you still have issues with the direct setup, then its your camera. Its pretty delicate back there. The harnesses can get scrunched or pinched or a wire can come out of the pin slot. Good luck and keep us posted!

I would re-register fresh and pair it up again with the Z3 and see if that helps.

Besides cleaning it first to see if that reduces the visibility of the scratch, using polishes will make your screen look frosty like a frozen beer cup. I would send it in for service.

There is no wide spread issue with the flex ribbon cable, but whenever your screen is having issues, its something to look at. Its very thin and fragile so I wouldn't just go ahead and wiggle it but visually inspect it first and lift the tabs off before removing it because if you remove it while it is attached, you will damage it.

Yeah, those aren't very secure for the wires to be just twisted and taped. You need either crimping connectors or wrapped in heat shrink. From a random internet source...

One thing I would like them to add in their next update is a Full screen 3D Map (instead of it only being half the screen).

Z3 FTW! The backup camera turns on instantly in the Z3 when you turn the ignition on and put it in reverse.

What happens if you just hook up the Backup cam without using the ND-BC20PA module? I'm thinking its the module.

^^ Glad to hear you got the back up camera. The steering wheel mod is great and looks fine. Its the safety issue of not having your airbag I personally would not venture into when it comes to making modifications to my car. The new 2008 G35 steering wheel looks better than the older versions.

Thats a clean install you got there. Plan on adding some modules to your Z3? Backup camera is a great option. I just got mine installed and wondered why I didn't do it in the first place. I do like everything but not a fan of the steering wheel, since you lost your airbag from that mod.......I thought infiniti had decent looking OEM steering wheels?

One thing to also check, is the flex ribbon cable behind the screen that connects the screen to the unit. Its very fragile and the connection could be loose. If the ribbon cable is ok, than Garrettoomey may be right. Although the manual says the LCD screen has lamp life of 10,000 hours.

Yeah, your installer suffers from lack of knowledge and experience. Go to better installer who is familiar with pioneer products.

Yes, you can mute the nav guidance voice. Look for it in the audio settings menu. I personally have it so that the music mutes, when there is nav guidance voice, I just want to hear the voice clearly plus my passengers know which way I'm turning anyway.

I guess heyrobi was addressing his issue of using the correct disc for different states. Your observation is correct, since Tennessee is adjacent to North Carolina(which is on east coast), I would definitely use the East Coast Disc for address searches in those states.

As a rule of thumb, if possible, I always watch and supervise the install process from start to finish and check everything before leaving the shop. Take it back. Explain the bypass and have them check their work. FYI.
