1. No it can't burn dvds. You'll need to set up a separate burner to do that.,
2. If he's talking about canadian dollars that's actually not too bad a deal. It's something like 850 american. Which coming from a retail store ain't that bad. THough if that's american $ then no that price ain't good at all.
3.
I just paid a certified pioneer installer to install my Avic D2 in my 07 Scion tC, and have a few issues: - The radio door closes, but its a VERY tight fit. It buldges slightly when closed and im afraid that over time this will damage the door. Is this a know problem installing these in the tC?.
I have had this problem in the past. What I've done is modify the factory brackets to push the radio back enough to allow enough clearance for the door to close properly.
- He claims the steering wheel controls can not be interfaced with t
4. SOunds like a problems I've had to deal with almost every time I've put a radio into one of those things. Normall what I'll do is drill new holes in the factory brackets to mount the radio.
5. Possible. The factory amp is behind the glove box I beleive.
6. Yeah you notice it. It sits the screen just about 1/2" deeper in the dash.
7. That steering wheel remote is definately ir. The transmitter may be hidden, but if the z1's display is in direct sunlight you'll see it might not always respond to the remote. Well my d1 does anyway.
8. Haven't seen the dash of those things yet, but if it's anything the rest of mazda's line up your going to have to do some glassing to get it to fit properly.
9. The Z1 can be made to fit a grand cherokee, how ever it will take a fair amount of work in order to get it to fit. Your probelm lies in the grand cherokee's radio opening is din and a half, and the z1 ofcourse is double din. How ever you go good luck.
10. You would be correct row 1 pin 10 is the "secret ground" and 9 and 10 in the second row are already grounded
11. Is the pbus cable plugged in to the bllue port or the black port of the xm tuner. It should be plugged into the black port of the xm tuner.
12. Here ya go bro. This pinout is viewing from the wire side, with the locking tap on top. Row 1 1. RR Spkr + 2. RR Spkr - 3. LR Spkr + 4. LR Spkr - 5. VSS 6. Parking Brake 7. Accy 8. Ill. 9. Constant 10. Empty Slot Row 2. 1. RF Spkr + 2. RF Spkr - 3. LF Spkr + 4. LF Spkr - 5. Remote turn on 6. Antenna Turn on 7. Reverse Input 8. Cell Mute 9. Ground 10. Ground Good thing my d1 had to go out for repair today i guess....
13.

no it doesn't. You'll either need to manually flash the headlights or get ducatiboy's circuit. either route you go, the parking brake wire must be left unconnected.
cntrylvr79, that's for the Z1. Ducati's flasher only works on the Z1. The OP is referencing the D2 he just purchased.
Sorry bout that brain farted for a minute. Didn't realized he was talking about a d2 for some reason. Yay me I road the short bus.
14. You shouldn't have any problems with an r/s in the truck. If I'm remember correctly all of the igniton wires must be powered in order to power up all of the required systems for the ac controls. Which means the z1 and ducatiboy's circuit will power up at the same time. Provided as he stated you get a compentant installer. Though finding one of those seems to be rather difficult anymore.
15. That's definately something different. When the z1 was installed, was the factory amp in the car kept or was it bypassed? That might have something to do with that. I've also seen a corroded power antenna cause that kind of noise too.
16. Hey jimmy where abouts can you get that part you're talking about from, from the sounds of it, that will make some upcoming installs I have go a lot simpler.
17. Sounds like that might be the same static noise a lot of others have noticed. Thus far no one I know of has been able to get rid of it.
18. As long as the installer powers up the accy wire that tells the z1 to turn on when the car is remote started you shouldn't have any problems with his circuit working properly. What kind of car you have it in anyway?
19. no it doesn't. You'll either need to manually flash the headlights or get ducatiboy's circuit. either route you go, the parking brake wire must be left unconnected.
20. Depends, do you have an amp for the interior speakers?
21. YEah considering I just put a z1 in that the more than likely came from one of the first batches. Build date was either feb or march 06
22. I don't beleive the z1 will separate the audio signal between the fron and rear speakers. I could be wrong though since I never got real deep into it's menus. It can be done externally with an audio switch though.
23. First you might want to make sure they'll actually do that first. A lot of places will not do anything as far as doing bypass lockouts on nav systems anymore. You can thank lawyers for that one. IF you do run a home dvd player in your car you will need a power inverter to supply power to it.
24. That's all the info the software gave me for your car.
25. Anything's possible for the right price. To be serious though neither of the things are that big a deal to put in at the same time.
