  1. I believe that both my usb and sd card are formatted in FAT32. My usb is only 128gb, can’t remember the size of the sd card. Both work fine.
  2. Good Luck brother. Hope it works for you since it did for me.
  3. Once you put it in your unit it will lock the card and you won’t be able to do any other thing with it like create an image.
  4. When I received my new sd card, I used Linux Mint with an external card reader that plugged into a usb port to create an image file that I then put that image on a Sandisk 16gb card. Windows will not read that card because it is an android program. Now I suppose you could get some program for Windows to read that card but I am no computer guru so I don’t know Linux Mint work great for me.
  5. I did not have this issue when I did mine. Is it possible to try another touch screen from a friend to see if it reacts the same ?
  6. May or may not be related. When I got my 4500, I purchased the parking brake bypass and installed it on my unit. Worked great then on down the road eventually I started getting notices on the unit that the parking brake was not engaged, even if it was a function that didn’t need it engaged. Nothing had changed, I hadn’t moved the unit or the wiring. Then other things started happening untill the unit didn’t work any more. Turns out it was the firmware issue. I replaced the firmware and now all is well. Hope that is not the problem but something to think about.
  7. It is my understanding that the unit password protects the cards and nobody here that I am aware of knows the password. I’m pretty sure I seen a posting here of someone who used, I believe it was Disc Manager, to re-format the cards.
  8. This is just my opinion but the bottom of the screen comes out and the top drops down. I would try to pry out the bottom, carefully, and push down the top. Granted I have never done this but I don’t remember it “latching” when it closes. Then then if it comes out there is a little slider latch, I think it is on the right side, that you move to remove the faceplate from the holding track. Sorry I am currently in my wife car and don’t have access to my unit right. I mean shucks what do you have to lose by trying. Just my opinion.
  9. Glad something I posted actually helped someone here. Great News on you fixing the issue.
  10. Looks like the firmware is on the Pioneer website for this unit. Free.
  11. I did not. Here is the listing. Did you put the card in the correct slot ? There are two slots.
  13. If I remember correctly there was something in the The AVIC Development Mod thread. But it involves modifying the software on the sd card to get the “caution” screen to go away. Since I own a w4500 I’m not sure if it would be the same for your unit. On mine it goes away after a minute or so, I just pay no attention to it. Just trying to point you in the right direction. I am no coder, but maybe asd255 can help, he seems to me to be very knowledgeable about these units.
  14. Glad I was some kinda help. Definitely worked for me, made it easy peasy. And if it happens again, burn a new card and replace the card.

  16. I have the official w4500 firmware and looking thru the sysd.conf file I seen there settings in it for 26 different models. One being the AVH-Z9200DAB.
  17. I just hope it helps you. I was frustrated for a long time reading any and everything I could on here before I finally got it right. Good luck.
  18. When I used it I used a cheap sd card I bought on Amazon. It worked for a while, a very short while. Then I ponied up and bought a 16gb, class 10 San Disc sd card. Used my Linux Mint to image it on there and have no issues since. I might have screwed it up in the Windows machine, it was my first attempt at doing this or it just might’ve been the cheap card.
  19. I had used a Windows machine to make a backup of mine but I am not sure that it worked for me. I ended up using Linux Mint, using the dd command to make a back image. Does this help ?
  20. Q#1. I would think that if there is power going thru the unit you should be able to tell. Q#2. No, I do not believe so. Q#3. I personally have not seen this. Q#4. I think that a loose or incorrectly attached ribbon cable could cause this. If you or a friend has a voltage meter I would check the plug that plugs into the back of the unit to see if it is getting power. That’s the first thing I would do, could be a blown fuse.
  21. This is just my experience with a 4500. I tried putting the image on an SD card using windows and it failed, the unit still didn’t work. Then I used a Linux machine to put the image on a card and it worked. I believe there is a 4400 file here somewhere. If you have it then try using a different image burner, or like I did a Linux machine. Just my experience.
