  1. I've got the Z110 upgraded to Z120, working flawlessly with my Nexus 4 with stock ROM. I've unlocked the bootloader and rooted it, but that's it.
  2. I want the updated maps, but don't want to give up voice control of navigation, otherwise I'd be all over this. Thanks for the hard work!
  3. Thanks a lot for this post. I was considering picking up the 140 update, but since it kills voice control of navigation, it's a big HELL NO to this update. With the iP5 out and Android with decent marketshare compared to when the Z110 came out, I'm hoping Pioneer really makes an actual update to the Z-series instead of incremental updates to a 4-year-old system. Maybe something with MHL support?
  4. See the post immediately 2 above yours, answered in the post immediately above yours.
  5. And by the way, I've served up a few complete copies but there's nobody else seeding. If people here are going to stop seeding once they're done, I won't seed at all.
  6. Get utorrent from utorrent.com to run the torrent file.
  7. Since the first torrent is totally un-seeded, I wasted a couple hours and downloaded all 30 parts to create a new torrent. This will be seeded up for a while... after that, it's on you guys to keep it up. CNSD-210FM SD.zip
  8. Somebody please torrent this. Split into like 30 files on a server with 300 second wait... 9000 seconds of waiting is just lame. Edit: Thanks for the torrent! I'll seed as long as feasible. Edit #2: No seeding of the file has been done * AT ALL * in the last week.
  9. From the outside, what a casual glance would see: Without the window blocking some of the view: What's hiding underneath: I put it on whenever I'm not in my garage.
  10. How expensive is it to keep a Kenwood up to date? $1000 or so every year for the new headunit? While I agree that you can buy a new tomtom every year for $100, so it's rather lame that it costs more for a couple SD cards.
  11. Capacitive touchscreen? Sounds good at first in regards to responsiveness and such, but I don't want to have to remove my gloves when it's 10 degrees outside and I want to get my radio doing what I want at the start of my drive.
  12. The iPod tries to send the audio over the line-out on the dock connector whenever it's plugged it, so you'll have to re-plug that 3.5mm in every time you connect the iPod or turn the unit on and off, so you can't just leave it in the glovebox and forget about it like you can with the CD-IU50V. Also, the volume control is independent of the 3.5mm jack when you're using the cable, so you don't have to re-adjust it from what it was every time you connect the iPod.
  13. Addition of built-in HD tuner looks like a hardware change to me.
  14. I'm not after the 2010 upgrade, but I am very interested in mods! I've got both an F90BT and Z110BT at the moment, and would love to see the map program hacked to do the speed trap cameras and other great stuff that's been unlocked on the F-series. If I have to go with the Z120 interface to do so, I'll do it, (new maps a bonus). Huge props to ShortFuse! Perhaps we can get the master modders from the F series to take their efforts over here now, now that the master cracker has opened the door?
  15. Sat radio, iPod and backup camera are on every damn double din out there. If those + good nav is all you're after, pick up an old kenwood with garmin in it. IMO, the only reason to pay the premium for the 9960 or Z120 is for the voice control or the Lifetime traffic (w/ads - 9960) or Pandora functionality (Z120). Every other feature is found in cheaper units.
  16. There's a torrent of the files already available - check hacks/mods.
  17. Hm. $167 is a lot better than $200, but I'm still not sold on the new interface, what with not owning an iPhone and all.
  18. Yeah, garmin's a good way to go for navigation, but it doesn't care how many times I say "Play artist Jeebus" it just tells me to make a right turn.
  19. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CRD4460 Installation guide shows out of stock until June 14th, 2010. There's a number of parts on the parts list for the Z120BT - http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/mod ... T&x=27&y=6 - which do not also list the Z110BT as an application. * Parts that were different: CORD ASSY NAVI UNIT AUDIO UNIT MONITOR UNIT CONTROL ASSY Major Stuff that was the same though - SERVICE MANUAL PC BOARD DECORATIVE PANEL SENSOR ASSY FM TUNER KEYBOARD ASSY TUNER IF UNIT FLUORESCENT INDICATOR MECH DRIVE ASSY DVD MECHANISM MODULE
  20. I have loved the voice recognition, and it's fairly reliable, depending on your accent. The Pandora integration is making me rethink my avoiding the iPhone with the mandatory data plan. Streaming music comparable to XM/Sirius + the usual data plan goodness might be worth paying an extra $30/month for.
  21. I was tempted when I saw the specs on the Kenwood DNX9960, but once they put the manual up, and their "Advanced" voice recognition works just like the 9140, I couldn't buy my Z110 fast enough. The DNX9960 requires that you be staring at the screen to use the voice recognition with your iPod. Instead of saying "Play Artist Green Day" like the Pioneers, you have to say "Search Artist G" then look at the screen and say "Next Page" (like 8 per page) until the one you want is on screen, then say "Line 4". The Garmin nav with the lifetime subscription to NavTraffic would have been cool, but I
  22. We've been hoping for that for the F series for years now. You'd think Pioneer would have the brains to figure out that programming the seek up/down to do preset up/down in FM mode is the logical thing to do. With rare exception, everybody in the rest of the car audio world has figured this out.
  23. If price really is no object, get the Z110BT. If you have an iPhone 3G or newer, go with the x910BT for the updated apple hardware chip, otherwise, if you can get the F90BT + 3.0 update for less than the X910BT, do that, since you'll have the iPod cable, and higher voltage pre-outs.
