  1. Is anybody seeding this anymore or is it dead?
  2. 1. Look in the manual. If default doesnt work then reset unit. 2. Rebooting has nothing to do with the VSS wire. You most likely have a bad HDD. 3. Doesn't matter. 4. Change the orientation with the red and white north pointer.
  3. It took me a while, but I finally verified the 400 album limit. Despite the folder configuration there is indeed a 400 album limit. (Just like it says in the manual) When you try add album #401 you will get a message saying that it cannot record because the playlist has been filled. I already verified the 400 artist limit a while ago. You can continue adding albums after you reach the 400 artist limit, but the new artist will not show up in your list. (The artist will still display when you play the album)
  4. If you are in the Chicago area I can sell one for cheap. (Brand New)
  5. Put the Z3 in album mode. That should solve a lot of your problems. You can only delete tracks while in album mode. Press the info button and it is fairly obvious form there.

    RIPPING MUSIC

What is weird is that it looks like there is enough room (folders) for 1000 albums, but there is the 400 albums limit. I have verified the 400 artist limit, but I haven't reached 400 albums yet. When you get to 400 artists you can still load albums, but the new artists won't show up in artist mode. I got to more artists than albums because of compilation albums.

    RIPPING MUSIC

In my experience it has been better not to use CD-text and let gracenote find the CD. Why? Because all the voice recognition titles will load automatically with gracenote.
  8. when you are on a trip and you know about how long it takes, set your travel speeds until the time is about right.
  9. OMG. I completely agree with you. My 20 year pre-navigation calculator thing did this. Just give me the results that are ahead and on my route. -mk
  10. I believe you can turn it off completely so it never pops up.
  11. The only way to put music is load cd by cd and the Z1/Z2 is limited to 400 albums. You can't load a cd with mp3s either. It won't load into the library.
  12. It will work, but I don't see the point in having that big of a hard drive.
  13. I have been trying to let people know that anything bigger than 40GB is pretty much useless. The Z series can only hold 400 items in any playlist. That means you can only store 400 albums which equate to about 20GB of music. I guess if you really pushed it and burned 400 CDs to the max on each one you might get to 25GB. You also CANNOT copy your mp3s from your computer to your avic HDD. Converting them to .at3 will not work either. Good luck.
  14. Why would you want put in a really big HDD?

Pioneer usually can honor the warranty by using the serial number.
  17. It sounds like you might have some wires switched. You may have the battery (constant) connected instead of the ingition.
  18. I haven't noticed it learning anything. -mk

    Library scanning

Sounds like you are in scan mode.
  20. Start from scratch. Unlock the HDD. Check if that is good enough. Pop it back in your Z2 and see if it works. If it doesn't work then you should put a new image on it and then it should work.

    music on the Z2

if they are all on your laptop then the only way to do it is to burn the music on CDs. They CANNOT be in the MP3 format. They have to be in the normal music format. I think it is .cda. You cannot transfer MP3s from your computer to the Z1/Z2. They are in a different format and this will not work.
