  1. I am having a strange issue with RDS. I have 6 stations preset on FM1 and am having an RDS display issue with only one of the stations. Preset 1 was working properly until a few days ago, (except for while I was having issues after coming out of testmode) viewtopic.php?f=58&t=27268 The problem I am having is that whenever I am on preset #1 the RDS information does not scroll, it is stuck on one screen, says "The BEAR" which is the correct station but shows nothing further. I have tried manually tuning the same station, changing the preset to something else then changing it back but i
  2. but if you press and hold the voice command button it does mute completely.
  3. The image they show on that page for "reality view pro" is similar to what is shown on the screen of the Z110BT when approaching a freeway or highway entrance/exit, its not much but i'll take it. If it were available with North American maps and major Canadian cities were included in the "Real City 3D" i would buy it in a heartbeat though..
  4. It doesn't simulate anything, it translates the actual information into a format that an aftermarket unit can understand and use. ex; IF it does indeed contain the parking brake signal, it would tell it that it is on when it's on, and off when it is actually off. I did just take a closer look and it looks as though the VSS and parking brake etc are not available from the factory harness according to the PAC instructions, looks like you will have to find them and hook them up manually, however an adapter is still required to retain certain functions such as door chime, OnStar and others, p
  5. probably not, they are not typical ground or +12v wires, they are basically like a network wire that exchanges information with the car's engine management computer, the PAC interface translates those signals into something that aftermarket units can use. I didn't use the PAC interface for my Mustang but so I ran the VSS wire to the front of my car where the ECM computer is and attached it there. The parking brake on my car is the hand brake so I attached the parking brake to the +12v side there. Had I used the PAC interface I would not have had to do the manual connections.
  6. The parking brake pedal will have a small switch that is depressed when the brake is not set. One side of the switch will be ground and the other will be +12 volts, connect the parking brake sense wire to the +12 volt side of the switch. I am not sure which exact wire is for the speed sense in your car but it should be located at the ECM. You might also be able to use this (probably require it require it actually), designed to add aftermarket radios to your vehicle. http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pacclgmrarea.html since the 2004 - 2007 Grand prix had the option of factory na
  7. I installed the camera. I was able to follow the wires from the license plate light which enter the vehicle into the trunk area and used the existing grommet to pass the cameras power and video wires through. I was in a hurry so I connected the power to the lic plate light, since I always drive with at least the parking lights on, the camera should be functional even for split screen rear view. I connected the purple "reverse sense" wire to a white w/yellow wire on the drivers side tail light harness and set the HU to sense 12+. I am very impressed with the picture quality of the cam
  8. When you first start the unit up, go to the maps screen, the safety disclaimer will be displayed, press "OK" to clear it then switch back to the audio source you were listening to, when the phone rings you shouldn't see the disclaimer anymore. Hopefully this will be cleared up for you in a future update.
  9. I'm not having any of those issues, maybe it's because I am still using the microphone that came with my FH-P800BT. It looks like the exact same mic but maybe it is a little different internally. I have mine mounted on the top of the steering column.
  10. You can safely change the microphone, there is no way a microphone could damage the HU anyway. Search the forum for the word "microphone" and you will find several posts that refer to using different mic's. Some have used their factory installed microphones and some have purchased and had good results with a microphone made by Garmin for their Sat Nav units.
  11. I just received a rear view camera to install in my 2006 Mustang GT conv, anyone have one of these installed in a Mustang? I am just wondering how easy it was to get the wiring from the license plate area to the interior of the trunk and where you went through. Will the hole for the license plate light lead to the tail light wiring? If it does it should be easy (I hope) if not I would really like to know where everyone else went through.
  12. If installing it yourself voided the warranty then Pioneer wouldn't include the install manual, you were lied to, but you got a better deal anyway. I like when that happens, the liar loses and the consumer gets the better deal anyway!
  13. No, I don't think you would have to pull your auction as long as you were clear as to what you were including with it, proof of purchase is not required to sell on eBay. I am pretty sure that the D3 would be like my Z110, if you didn't ever set a password then it won't be needed. If you were able to get your disc out without being asked for a password then none is required.
  14. Try adding the "+" in front of the 1, make sure there are not brackets ( ) around the area code either, remove any dashes as well
  15. On my phone, which is on a GSM network, all incoming calls have a +1 in front of the phone number. ex +1-xxx-xxx-xxxx When I receive a phone call and I have the number in my phone stored as xxx-xxx-xxxx the name of the caller in my contacts does NOT show up on the screen of my AVIC. If I change the contacts phone number in my phone to +1-xxx-xxx-xxxx and update the AVIC to have the same information (sync) then they are now recognized by the AVIC and their name shows up. The point is to have the phone number in your telephone contacts list EXACTLY in the same format as it appears durin
  16. First, asking a question and not receiving an answer within 12 hours is not a long time, please be patient and if your question hasn't had a response in 2-3 days then "bump" your post so appears fresh. 2nd, I did a quick search for the word "microphone" on this site and came up with the following 2 threads. The first one mentions someone using their factory OnStar mic and the second mentions using a microphone meant for a Garmin GPS, both worked better at the voice recognition than the one that comes with the AVIC viewtopic.php?f=32&t=27371&p=189924&hilit=microphone#p18992
  17. Try adding a +1 to the start of all your phone numbers in the contacts list especially if that's the way you see the phone numbers on your screen in an oncoming call ex. +1-555-555-1212 or similar.
  18. Has anyone with a U310 downloaded the Z110 service manual? Have you tried the method to get into testmode for the Z110 on the U310 to see if it works?
  19. The rear speaker output on Pioneer decks has been able to support a subwoofer for a long time. When set to sub the rear speaker output uses the internal crossover to output only bass and I believe also bridges the rear channel of the built in amp to provide extra power required to drive a sub. Once you turn the rear speaker to full you can then turn the subwoofer (RCA) on or off and adjust the crossover etc.

If it were me I would take the remote apart, clean the contacts and check the board for cracks or anything that may be causing those buttons to no longer function.
  22. I agree, there are many things done in this forum that Pioneer would never tell you is possible.... There is another thread discussing this as well, looks like someone is trying it out. viewtopic.php?f=57&t=26528
  23. This was discussed in the following thread viewtopic.php?f=57&t=26143 The answer was....
  24. I had the same issue with my Nokia N97, had to do a re-boot or re-set to get the Bluetooth to work. I also had an issue that the audio for the phone would not start until the person on the other end answered, no ringing at all, just a sudden "hello?", really annoying. My guess is that the issues have to do with the parrot hardware and firmware. My FH-P800BT i bought 1.5 years ago (which did not use parrot for the H/F) did not have any of these issues and even worked properly with my brand new N97 which was only released in June or this year.
