  1. Not working for me......... I burned the image using Alcohol 120. Inserted the disk and pressing map didnt seem to do anything. Pressed AV and that made it read the disk. I then got a message that said do you wish to update? I pressed yes. Then the screen said "reading disk." I then got another window that said "If you wish to install the update press yes. Pressing yes will disable all functions until install is complete. Or press no." And the only button that I can press is no. Did I do something wrong? I havent connected any wires yet, nothing is grounded. I just planned on do
  2. Bigred- I had the same problem, it took 3 CD's before I got the image onto a good disk. At least I think it was the disk. I used ROXIO to burn and the last time I remember it referring to burning the "image" to the disk. After that, I followed Hyperite's directions and it went without a hitch. I'm not a techie, but have ripped CD's before. My theory is your software has to recognize the file as an image. Good Luck! Stan Yup, definitely a difference between a "data" burn and an "image" burn. I found this out today as well. Might want to add that to the intructions?
  3. It seems you have to actuallly burn the .iso and not just do a data burn. I tried just doing a data cd burn using nero and it didnt work. I'll have to go back and use alcohol and burn the image to the disk I guess.
  4. Since hyper doesnt want any money, I say we at least toss him some booze of some sort. This is definitely worth, at the very least, a fifth or a case or two of his poison of choice. What do ya say hyper?
  5. Damnit all to hell..... I wish I would have checked the forums yesterday. Now I have to sit at work and twiddle my thumbs until I can get home and dl that file. Awesome work hyper, thanks for all your time and help. Now my only hang up is getting my z2 out and grounding those wires.... Eck... not too keen on the idea of tearing into my car like that. I wonder if my installer would do it.... probably not.
  6. Personally i think its the sound that is so damn funny. And then, I think its the smell that you know is coming soon after the sound. Kinda like backwards thunder and lightning. You hear the sound before you smell the flash!
  7. Take your own advice, reading is fundamental...
  8. philosophical question time..... Why are farts so amusing? And thats on any level, any level of "maturity" or age or position in industry. Every male, no matter who they are, get a kick out of an errant fart. The accidental suprise "oops, where did that come from" fart are the ones that really get a good laugh. Why is that? Discuss.....
  9. Oh, well in that case, cool. I would hope they would give the current z2 owners the update for free.
  10. i farted so loud this morning, I scared my cat
  11. The disc I was told about is the one that you supposedly have to buy for $250. I'll post in here when I found out more. I'm sorry to tease, but that's all the info I have for now. Another Pioneer rep on another forum that I frequent just confirmed that the upgrade disc will be available from Pioneer's website as a FREE download. He said next Thursday it should be up on the site. Hmm.... I dont think thats entirely accurate. Maybe a free download for z2 owners, but for the z1 guys, I think they would still be required to pay for some key of some sort. I mean, look at the fellas wh
  12. Kinda sucks for the z1 guys then.
  13. I called and they said they didnt even sell double quarter pounders with cheese!
  14. No one gets a break here, NO ONE! Sink or swim, do or die!
  15. brandon

    got my z2

nope, you'll just get the message.
  16. Its not about not having found a bypass there smart guy. Its about a bypass being available for a z2 thats a couple months newer than the first released units. Its rather rediculous to even consider, "ok, these z2s will be bypassable, but not these ones...." So yeah, im going to bitch about it because I can.
  17. did you not read my post, manufacture date of JUNE and its not a theory Wonderful.... mine was one of the first off the damn truck in April. Hooray for being the first to buy.... thank you pioneer for rewarding my brand loyalty.
  18. still does not sound good for those of us who purchased them as soon as they released........
  19. could be the pioneer people are having a good laugh at us. "Look at this Fred, watch what happens when I toss this little peice of meat into this pit of wild hungry dogs...... LOL! Look at them go!!!!" asses..... haha thats probaby what happened. As a software engineer myself, I know we are pretty sadistic. Yeah, im a hardware guy myself but I work with software guys and those turds have some twisted senses of humor sometimes.
  20. could be the pioneer people are having a good laugh at us. "Look at this Fred, watch what happens when I toss this little peice of meat into this pit of wild hungry dogs...... LOL! Look at them go!!!!" asses.....
  21. Ditto, this is starting to sound more and more like horseshit. I went ahead, trusted the pioneer brand, pre-ordered my unit to be the first with one, and it sounds like im going to be screwed. Between dj gear and this stuff, Ive spent... well more than I want to admit, on pioneer. If it goes the way we're pessimistically thinking, then I wont be buying ANYTHING Pioneer ever again. I mean, what the hell happened to brand loyalists getting some kind of kick back? I know im jumpin the gun a bit and getting ass chaped early, but I dont think this will end well for myself and those of us who bo
  22. If it turns out to be true, then thats a bunch of horse crap. After dropping x amount of dollars on a brand new z2, now i'd have to drop x amount more money on a damn disk so that I can bypass my z2? buncha corporate crapola if you ask me.
  23. I just started having issues with my z2 and the library as well. Had tons of songs come up with just a question mark (?) in place of the song title. Then, just like everyone else has been saying, it would kill the song before the song was over. That was this past friday, drove around today and I didnt have those issues. Not sure what the issue is, but its not something I would expect from such an expensive piece of hardware.
  24. Just a little heads up on the GN update, make sure you've got a good 10 -15 minutes for this thing to do its stuff. So, just having the vehicle on without the engine on, might not be a good idea. An interesting thing I found though, theres a text file in the update that refers to Z1 something or other. Not sure if its a huge deal, but I thought it was interesting to see that reference in software thats supposed to be for a z2. For those that dl'd the zip file, the z1 reference is in that .txt file thats part of the dl.
