anybody know of a good source for broken radios, and/or faceplates from factory radios?? I would really like to make a fake face for my Z2 when I get it put in my F-350, but I dont know of any good junk yards in my area.

mostly updated maps, and some changes/upgrades in the voice recognition and routing logic. but if you spend a little time looking around on the forums here, especially under the "hacks" category, you will see that it looks like the guys are pretty close to bypassing the Z2. Especially considering that there are some new (late build date) that are being bypassed using the old methods.

I would love to see one of these done for Texas Tech University. Maybe even something done with Tech and Ford F-350 together. My Z2 is suppose to be here Friday and I am getting pumped to get it installed.

This is kindof what we are all hopeing for. who knows, maybe the bluetooth will suddenly come out with an upgrade disk again, or gracenotes, who knows?

I thought the 700W was on the list of the phones that did work with the Z's

So what is going to happen if I go ahead and ground the pin (same as the Z1 bypass) when installing it, if my Z2 is an earlier model?? I am thinking that it might make it just a bit easier when/if the update CD's do come out, so that I wont have to take anything apart to do the bypass.

Yes, it is mostly just a software update, and we are still awaiting the upgrade disks to be released. How do you know its not the same as a Z2 already (just with Aussie maps)?

sweet, I just looked at the coverage map and see they have it going on the main road of my small town.

I am holding off on buying my Z2, in hopes that this is true, so I will hopefully get one that will bypass easily.

look back at the first couple of posts, it said something about the color of the serial number label on the unit I believe

there is some software out there to convert MP3's to a readable format for the Z2, someone will either chime in, or you could look around for it, it has been discussed several times on here. or you could just go buy the clarion or alpine unit and quit your bitchin.

Is this going to lock out the bypass?

I would love to see that pic of the D3. BTW, what did you do for trim around the AVIC unit??? I am wondering if a dash kit for an '07 f-250/350 would trim it out with a little modification.

I have thought very siriusly (see what I did there) about doing the lifetime membership, But I wonder how this would effect everything if/when the merger goes down. recent developments of college sports teams shifting around from sirius to xm and vise versa make me wonder if the merger is going to happen at all. and I sure dont want my teams switching over to xm if I have a lifetime sirius account.

I would love to see those steps. I was soooooo dissapointed when the guy at BestBuy told me the Z2 wouldnt fit in my 2000 F-350. I REALLY want this unit, but I also want the ability to take it with me in a year or two when I buy a new truck. That is the only thing that worries me. I am really somewhat dissapointed that Pioneer would sell to someone, then turn around and say they arnt going to warranty their item because they sold it to a "non-authorized" shop.

I am looking to finally get my Z2 soon, so I have been looking into best prices. Shipdog.com is listing it for $1558. With that price I can get all the extras I want (bluetooth, XM, & Sirius & even an instore extended warranty) for a total that is cheaper than Bestbuy for just the unit. What do you guys think? I know there is an inherant risk buying anything on the internet, but it sure looks like a heck of a deal.

I've heard/read opinions both ways. I think the biggest deal is what kind of warranty does it have compared to a new unit. Several people have had lots of luck with referb's. The best argument I have heard, is that the referb has gone through actual testing, when an off the shelf unit has not. The referb was definately working when it last left the factory, when who knows with a regular straight off the line production unit. personally I wouldnt be afraid to get one.

On your 250.... What dash kit did you use? and was there a wireing harness you used? I would like to try and cut down on the cut and splice of wires, because I may end up buying a new truck in the next year or two and want to take my Z2 with me.
