  1. Yeh, check your ill wire. Should read 12V w/ the lights on. I've seen some 07's w/ the ill wire in the harness behind the radio and others were not. I'd look behind the radio first.
  2. I think it's grey/black stripe. But, you should test w/ a multi-meter.
  3. Sounds like you have the ant remote(blue) connected instead amp remote(blue/white). You can work around this by going into system settings and changing the ant control from tuner to power.
  4. The Ill wire in the H2 is in the very top of the A-piller. Remove the handle from the piller and the trim will come off. Remove the one screw holding the far left marker lamp and it will come off. Pull on the wires where they run through the grommet under the light and the grommet will pop out of the hole. Tap into the wire(on the under side of the grommet) that goes 12V w/ lights on and run the wire down the A-piller to the AVIC. Make sure to put the grommet back into the hole or all the water that sits on the roof will end on the floor in the truck!
  5. Fastest takes into account the speed limit of the roads and the distance traveled on those roads. So the route may be longer but the speed limit could be higher and the AVIC would think that you would arrive sooner. For this to work properly you must set the average speeds to what you would typically drive on that road. Shortest takes into account the driving distance only. There are also areas you can set it to avoid; freeways, ferries, tolls.
  6. Look for a pinched or cut mic wire. I'd try the A-piller first, most likely place.
  7. No, the disc from the D1 or D2 will not work w/ the D3.
  8. I used to have a problem w/ people in my apt complex messing w/ my truck. Would wake up to my alarm going off and find forehead and cupped hand smugges on the glass. I was pretty sure who was to blaim. It all stopped when they saw me on the way to the range loading my AR into the truck w/ my HK 45 on my hip.

  10. Also, one thing I have encountered is that the AVIC-D2(not the D3, Z1, or Z2) and the PESWIPS or SWIPS have an issue w/ the volume not working all the time. It's strange. You can program it and everything works fine, but then just out of the blue it will quit working. It's almost like it's loosing the programming. You can unplug/reprogram it and it will work fine. But just not for long. Also in the Trailblazers and Envoys the steering wheel controls will change the source and channels on it own. It's cause of the vehicle not the unit. There is some sort of feedback from the truck and ther
  11. The delay is due to how it relays the signal. The factory radio would receive the signal directly from the steering wheel controls and react almost instantly. The interface takes a sample of the steering wheel controls wire. Meening that the interface looks for a change in the voltage on this wire. I'm not sure of the sampling rate, but it is less than a second. It then compairs this signal to the stored signals and outputs the proper command to the aftermarket radio. The good thing about the PAC and the Per parts are that they are completly programable. You must program each button on th
  12. Sounds like you have it all. Unless you want XM or cam.
  13. That piece works great. The Peripheral part number is PESWIPS. The two are the exact same only different stickers.
  14. I heard from my source at pioneer that the by-pass is legit, but he says they are not in the country yet. Can anyone confirm? And still no word on an up-grade disc for the older Z2's.

    Avic-Z2

I don't believe anyone has confirmed that the new units are by-passable. I hope they are so I can use that software to by-pass my now "outdated", two month old Z2. But, I'm not getting my hopes up until I've heard of confirmed, long term success.
  17. There is no by-pass for the Z2 yet. The rumor is that post June 07 units will have the same by-pass as the post June 06 Z1's. A quick search will provide threads w/ this info. BTW. What build date is your Z2?
  18. You will not be able to flip the screens, but you can display nav on both of them. Set the rear video output to mirror and then display the nav on the Z1. The picture quality of the nav will not be as good on the second screen.
  19. Look here: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4670
  20. A little more info on the make and model vehicle you have would be helpful. Have you adjusted any of the eq curves?
