that shi makes me cringe!! its a shame what stupid lazy people will do to a nice new navi unit!! i think i coulda glued 4 strips of plastic to it a nd made it look better y is it all discolored?

Hey all, my stupid pioneer rep showed us that we can "lock" the nav disc in the unit so that no one can steal it. all you had to do was hold down a couple of buttons. so now when u hold down the open button it folds down to expose the drive but the eject button does nothing. well now 2 years later ive sold the unit and the customer needs to be able to switch disks. pioneer tells me that they dont give out that info, and that i need to contact my rep. well as most reps dont keep there jobs for more than a couple years hes not reachable. so does anyone know how to "unlock" it? pleeeees

ive opened way tooo many avics! you should get the pink and purple/white wires the lame black trim ring the manual and stylus pack the power and speaker harness the rca and rear view cam harness (the bypass plug) the gps antenna and a bag of screws! that should be it dude

is it an eddie baur edition? if so you may need the amp integrator harness. if not the the 1771 will work fine

youll need something to cut out the rear dash support. and also some files for cutting the dash kits double din sepperator.but as far as parts you got it all man have fun

search for "installs in kansas" theres a dodge with your same dash on there yes it is a custom job. (hight needs about 1/4 inch and then the round pieces need to be filld in.) not too tough a job but i will need painted if you want it to look good

what kind of car? if its an easy one then u can let them do it just tell them u need vss and rev hooked up

if u have the steering wheel interface for pioneer the peswips then i think that u need to reprogram it. you must have a button on the steering wheel programed to source and the swips is thinking its recieving the signal... so pull it and reprogram it and try again!! ive had this prob when i didnt have the unit programmed to the right mode

on this same note has anyone had a "data read error" on my pics discs of 20 pics each usually 5 of them will say the above the other files that are the same size will work fine any ideas?

i think ur right no new vw has acc at the radio its all can-bus. you should have to go to a fuse in the fuse box or check if your cig lighter turns off with the key

so ur saying you hear beeps out of your speakers but no sound

fellas ur prob is with your amps. as far as the infinti system im pretty sure the kappa speakers are 2 ohm. (if there 2006 or newer) the amp is simply running at too low of an ohm load. for the jl system i would check all your grounds is all the sound cutting out or just the 4 channel?

sorry didtn mean to jack ur post but i have the same prob with the screen size. and also my disk with my PICTURES folder shows different files on the z1 than it does the d3. does anyone else have access to a z1 or z2 and a d3? if so make a disc with many bgs on it and try it in both thx

if u got an 03 tl then ur stuck with the factory nav dude. you might even have one with the first 5 channel surround setup in it in which case it would take alot to make it work the only thing you can do to those cars is add amps and subs sorry

i have probs with the d3 reading all the files on the disk. i hava pictures disk that on the z1 will read all of my files but when i put it ina d3 it only shows about half of the files

tj for christ sake we know that it can work without the vss. but y in the hell did pioneer include this "useless" wire if it doesnt help unless theres no gps. TO ALL STUPID LAZY PEOPLE. HOOK UP THE DAMN WIRE IF YOUR CAR HAS IT. I KNOW I KNOW ITS REALLY HARD AND TAKES ALL OF 20 MINUTES EVEN FOR THE WORST OF CARS. ive never had any issues with avics pointing the wrong direction or just not bieng acurate........ i wonder y that is hmmmmmmmmm sorry im not ina good mood this mourning

good for you jab!!!!!! some people like to run a ground from their deck back to the amp(s) i rarely do unless i have some awful engine noise
