Call pioneer customer service at 1.800.228.7221 and tell them what you need. You can order by phone or you can ask them for the part # and order online.

Technically the shop is right, if you have an accident and the insurance company (Or anybody who has interest in the case) finds out that you have bypassed your unit to do functions that are not allowed to be in use while driving you are liable. You are guilty, even if it wasn’t your fault. If they find out.

The only way is to change the led's.

So everything is installed and working... but,

You’re not doing anything wrong. That’s how the N series and D series work. The map DVD has to be in the HU until you program a destination, after you’ve programmed the destination then you can take out the DVD. -

wont find proper city or street when doing an address search
elgordo12 replied to POTERAN's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
You have to set it to your zone; it resets when you disconnect it from the power source. -
In NYC all you have to do is put the county name, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Manhattan. You will never find flushing (born and raised 11355). It’s how the software was setup. Any where else on the east coast from MD to MA it goes by city that I’m aware of.

Need a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" self-adhesive metal sheet
elgordo12 replied to v8killah's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Cut the sheet metal and paint it any color you want. -
I bought all my avic's via eBay; I’ve sent two of them for repair to the Ohio address. The avic-n3 for the door wouldn’t come out and the avic-z2 for the touch panel. All I’ve told them that they were a gift and that is acceptable as long as the manufacture’s date is within on year.

Let’s wait and see if the new GEX-P10HD is compatible with navigation HU (copy n paste) HD Digital Radio Ready - With the optional GEX-P10HD HD tuner (sold separately), Pioneer IP-bus headunits can receive HD Radio content. Four Pioneer models have built-in HD Radio control (DEH-P7000BT, DEH-P700BT, FH-P8000BT, and FH-P800BT) while other models can control Pioneer’s HD tuner as an “External Deviceâ€.

The wireless control for the avic-z2 is CD-SR1, yes it is wireless. For the screen protector I recommend you to buy it from navscreen on eBay, I’ve purchased some cheap one before and some don't fit or won’t stick.

Check the fuses.

Help: How to use multimeter to find correct wire
elgordo12 replied to docpaddock's topic in Vehicle Specific Wiring
Either use a needle to poke through the insulation or just connect the wire to the reverse light. -
I'm sorry for that. I have never used the ducatiboys circuit. I’ve done it on about 12 Z1s and if doesn’t work I pop in the Bluetooth update cd.
-
Just do it the upgrade. It's the same by-pass.

AVIC-Z2 (bypass issue - tempermental)
elgordo12 replied to OptimizedDucati's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
It resets itself, as the unit is aware that the car is in motion (via vss or gps signal) it will give you a bad parking brake connection. You should make sure that the pin that was moved or added to the harness is secure in the harness and the parking (green) cable is properly grounded together. You can connect them both to the black ground cable of the power harness. -
Try to use rubbing compound, there are two kinds. Buy both (red & green) (Turtle wax) You can get them in any auto part. First rub on the red like wax, and work it on, then use the green one to smooth it out. I use this on ipod’s, cellphones, wrist-watches, headlights.

Push the tab with a flat head screw driver and pull the connector side to side.
