  1. Hi all. My first post here, sorry if it is duplicated or already answered, but I haven't yet found anything like this. My problemis this: in normal usage, the Avic does everything right, sound is good, etc.; when I turn on the lights, there's a "humm" sound on the background, audible when there are pauses on music/radio, or if the volume is 0 or next to zero. I was told this has to do with my VW panel being lit by LED's (it's original, I haven't changed a thing), and these cause noise in the electric system that the radio amplifies. I had a VW Passat van like 6 years ago, and didn't have this problem with an Avic-HD1BT. I would like to know if anyone has experienced this also, since my local Pioneer rep doesn't give me any solution to this problem. Thanks in advance. Cheers!
  2. So I've done A LOT of research on here trying to figure out if others are having this same problem and although I see some similarities with the z150 and others, I'm not sure that the fixes are the same. This error code came on out of nowhere. I never tried to hack it, or update anything! I just turned the car on one day and my radio hasn't worked since. I believe that the files are corrupt though I'm not sure how that could happen. I've tried unplugging the battery, I also downloaded the Test mode thing and loaded it onto my SD card but when i popped it in, the radio did not go into test mode. With all this said, can someone PLEASE guide me through this step by step and include any downloads/links that I might need? I would REALLY appreciate the help!
  3. Most recent ver firmware

Ok guys it's been a few years since I've been on here just barely got a car that has the avic f900bt in it back up and running and wanting to update to the most recent firmware, on pioneer's site they are only showing a ver of 2 still, I see an install guide for 3.0 and then mods for 4.0 but can't find a thread with the links for 4.0 so I was wondering if a 4.0 install guide can be stickies so for those of us looking to come back and get the most up to date version don't have to spend a couple hours sorting through years worth of threads. I'm hoping a mod or vet of the forum can post a link to the thread or files to dl and load on an sd to update to the most recent version. Thanks in advance!
  4. hey guys, I have a Z130bt that I sold on amazon.com and the buyer is saying it wont power on. I had it in my car for a year and it worked fine, anything I can tell him to check that may be causing it not to power on or should I just tell him to return it and I'll accept the loss? He says he replaced the fuse in the back so far and his tech tried to give it direct power and nothing. He also said he got it to work once but the accessories won't turn on. Anything I can tell him to try? maybe common things or anything? ANY help is appreciated. I am NOT trying to screw this guy, so if a return is whats needed here he'll get it. I'm just trying to help him out and also avoid the loss on my end. Thanks.
  5. Hi folks, Newbie - First post here I'm in the UK and drive a SEAT Exeo, basically an Audi A4 B7 with a different grille and have a problem with my head unit: If I'm listening to either the radio, cd or an sd card and my phone rings - The stereo no longer mutes to answer the call, but it does mute if I'm streaming music from my phone via bluetooth. Basically, I have to turn down the volume and take the call, not ideal if you don't notice on the stereo display that someone is trying to call me! If I manually dial a call from my phone or keypad on the screen I have the same problem, but not when streaming music via bluetooth again! It used to work, but no longer does, can anyone help? Thanks in advance Damo
  6. I just had an Avic x850bt installed and I have noticed that every now and again while I am driving the bluetooth will cut out and come back, sometimes doing this a couple of times like a 'flickering' effect, Does anyone have any ideas of what might be causing this? I never had this issue with my AVH-X2500BT. Thanks in advance!
  7. Hi all! I have been lurking around these forums for the last few months. Not until yesterday did I make an account so I could get some help...... After reading everything I can regarding the X920BT I am finding myself confused. I do not want to brick my unit again and I do not have my unit backed up as of yet. Below is a quick overview of what happen along with some of the issues I am having as well as questions on things I am confused on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will start with how this happen. About 6 months ago I went to Pioneer's website and ordered a firmware update package. Pioneer sent me a micro SD card with the file on it. I followed the instructions and loaded the firmware. Upon completion I restarted the unit. This was where the problems began. I suddenly got a fuzzy screen upon booting the system which was followed by a screen full of black and white lines running horizontally across the screen. At this point the unit was dead to me with no response to anything I seemed to try. On occasion the unit would start up and get stuck on the splash screen but it would not respond to any commands given. This was when I started reading and reading and reading until my eyes were bleeding. After finding out that others had the same problem it was determined the system was fed a corrupt firmware file and would most likely require being sent back to Pioneer. As much as I hated the idea I went ahead and got it packed up and ready. It may be good to mention that I have been in the 12V business working for multiple professional shops since 1996 and hold a MECP Advanced certification. This gave me the ability to be closer to manufacture reps as well as what I believed would benefit me in getting the work complete with no hassle. I was WRONG!!!........ Pioneer could give two squats about who I knew, what I have done or where I worked. They told me they would not warranty the unit due to its age regardless of the fact the corrupt firmware came from them. So back to square one again....... Last night I decided to say screw this and dig some more on info. I found a pile of really good threads regarding hacks and mods some of the members have been working on. One of the threads I found was Condi's Hack Mode which had a good list of information and directed me through some of the other issues people have had and/or advanced abilities of the unit. What I found was that I had no idea what I was doing........... Suck to admit but it is what it is......... So I figured I would break down and ask with hope that others here could help walk me through the processes I need to complete. Lets start with where the unit is currently sitting regarding its status......... As of right now I have the unit recovered and for the most part working as expected. BUT I lost my CD/DVD function as the unit will draw the CD/DVD in but immediately will try and spit it out. It bounces back in forth pushing and pulling the CD in and out of the slot for a few seconds....... Only thing I can come up with is that its again not working with all the files needed or it has a corrupt firmware. Problem is, I do not know how to 1. backup my current info and 2. what file and how to update the unit. I am currently running the following: Platform Version 2.000 App Version 2.003 Version 02.0000 BT Firmware 3.11 Mecha Version I just want to update so I can have full function of my unit again. It would also be great to update the maps if possible. Here is what I need step by step instructions on if anybody is willing to help. 1. Locate all update files needed to fix this unit. 2. Instruction on how to backup whatever is needed prior to update. 3. Instruction on how to update firmware properly 4. Update or upgrade to any advanced programs you think I should go for. Such as upgrading to X930BT-X940BT firmware. (Only IF its something that is worth doing) I was pleased with the unit prior to it being rendered useless with exception of the navigation map being out of date, so upgrading is not particularly necessary beyond the Nav Maps. If there is any further information required from me please let me know. I will be glad to give whatever info is needed to get this accomplished. Thank you in advance! Chris McNair
  8. I'm new to the AppRadio and I have been searching all morning trying to figure out what the pros and cons are to the AppRadio vs a AVH / AVIC unit with App Mode. Crutchfield has the AppRadio 3 w/ DVD and the AVH-X5500BHS for the same price. You seem to get so much more out of the AVH model, but why? Am i missing something? What is the real difference between a dedicated AppRadio vs an AVH model with AppMode? Are there features that may not work as well? As for Navigation, if the AppRadio uses the Apple Maps app, or other navigation app, what makes an AVIC unit better? I just trying to figure out what i'm missing, when a top of the line navigation AVIC unit is double the price of and AppRadio that can use your phone for navigation? I'm just trying to wrap my head around the real differences between all of the units that Pioneer offers, aside from physical specs such as connections. Sorry if my post is vague, it's my first post on here. Also, I do not have any shops in the area that have these units on display where i can hook my phone (iPhone 5) to it and really play with the features. So when it comes to how these units operate, other than YouTube videos, i'm completely in the dark. Thanks for any help you all can give me. Mike
  9. Just in case anyone else forgot their password for their X850BT, here's how I got a hold of mine. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, some disclaimers: If you stole your unit, please give it back, save money, and buy your own! Otherwise, this is my: RUN TESTMODE AT YOUR OWN RISK statement! I searched this forum and Google'd like crazy, and there, to my knowledge, is no other documented method for retrieving the AVIC-X850BT's password specifically, sorry if this is a repost. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The way I figured it out is as follows: [FYI: I POSTED THE LINKS TO EACH THREAD I RESEARCHED BUT PROVIDED THE LINKS IN THIS HOW-TO SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BROWSE AWAY FROM THIS PAGE! ] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP 1: Get the right Testmode file. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I went here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/36681-avic-x50-hack-general-topic/?p=266663 and downloaded the link (testmode-x50v2.zip) pionara posted here: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP 2: Get a functional testmode base. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. I visited this thread: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/31534-condis-hackmode-v14-diskrw-gpsgate-textfiller-regeditor-with-reg-files-associated-updated-13062011/ 2. and downloaded the following link: Condi's HACKMODE v1.4 BASE - INSTALL VIA TESTMODE.zip 5.32MB 6140 downloads ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP 3: Extract the files onto the proper medium IN THE RIGHT ORDER. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. I took the "Condi's HACKMODE v1.4 BASE - INSTALL VIA TESTMODE.zip" and extracted ALL of it's contents to a BLANK miniSD card. 2. I extracted the contents of testmode-x50v2.zip onto the miniSD card and OVERWROTE the existing testmode.key file. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP 4: Startup in TESTMODE and access the right file. PATH:NAND\SYSTEM\SECURITY\SECURITY.DAT ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. I then removed the miniSD card from the computer and placed it into the AVIC-X850BT. 2. I turned the vehicle in to ACC Mode/Started vehicle. 3. The unit then successfully booted into testmode. 4. I used the volume keys to navigate the menu and selected the File Maintenance option. 5. I used the volume keys to navigate to the FIRST NAND folder (it's after the HDD folders). 6. I then navigated to the SYSTEM folder. 7. In the folder is a SECURITY folder, select it. 8. There should be several files in the SECURITY folder, among which is the SECURITY.DAT file, select it. 9. Navigate to and press the appropriate key to "[TXT DUMP]" the file. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP 5: Accessing your forgotten password. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Following the "[TXT DUMP]" of the SECURITY.DAT file, the top left corner of the screen will supply you with 3 things: YOUR forgotten password, your password HINT, and a buncha shenanigans. 2. I recommend taking and picture of that screen with your smartphone or other mobile device and then turning off your vehicle. 3. REMOVE THE miniSD card! 4. Turn your vehicle to ACC or turn it on. 5. After your AVIC-X850BT boots, try to use the picture to interpret and input your password. Hope this helps someone! I drive around for two weeks, getting mad every time I so much as LOOKED at my radio lol. GOOD LUCK!
  10. Hello everybody! First of all I want to let you guys know i'm new on this forum so please bare with me if I'm doing something stupidly wrong. I bought a 2nd hand avic 900bt radio (I live in The Netherlands, Europe) I found out it has a huge problem. when i turn acc off, the system doesn't completely shut down. for really a split second the screen turns black and then it shows a white screen and sometimes have colloured stripes in them. the problem here is that it will drain my car battery when left like this. I tried updating the system but that didn't really helped besides it is an update from 2011 and we are in 2013 allready haha. Is there somebody who can lead me to a forrum that explaines me how i can put custom software on this outdated radio? my system runs on 3.021 and maps 2.0something fm version 100. I hope you guys can help me further! grts Arjan

  12. Hi, I don't know whether this topic in particular have been subjected to discussion before, anyways I haven't found anything - hence my question; I just installed an AVIC-F940BT head unit into my car, although I lack some maps in the NAVI feature, so is there a possibility to purchase or download (whatever suits me just fine) additional maps (Russian, Eastern Europa etc.) to the version I have covering the major part of Europe? Thanks, Christian

  14. Possible to Skin UI

I was wondering if it was possible to skin the AVIC D3's user interface. If it would be possible by modifying an update file, or another method instead of just simply changing the background. Thanks
  15. Hi All! I had the HU installed today and I can't get australian maps (I'm a newbie I know)... I was just wondering is there any POSSIBLE WAY TO GET AUSTRALIAN MAPS!!! PLEASE HELP!!!! Hope you guys can help me (
  16. Hi all. This is my first message on this forum so, please advise me if I can find my answers in other topics. I have got an avic-f9110bt on my vw golf 1.6TDI. Map Version: 02.000600 System Version: 03.021000 First problem is about volume. Same song, same format (mp3), but one is in sd-card, other one is in cd-rom also mp3. cd-rom is running the song better quality than sd-card. Is it possible? Second problem is about touching noise. When i am listenin a cd, and when i am in cd-rom menu there is no noise when i touch the button on screen. But when i am in sd-card menu, there is system noise as "beep" when i touch the button again. How can i fix this? I couldn't find any menu to cut off the noise. Third problem is about the bluetooth. The version is 330 I have got a samsung galaxy s3. I searched and find my phone on the avic. That's ok. But when somebody called me and I answered, I couldn't hear any voice. So, how can I fix this too? Fourth problem is about watching video. I can't while driving. I made hard bypass as changing the mute cable. but still i can't. and note that, the other side of the mute cable is not connected anywhere. Please help me.. Thanks a lot for the answers.
  17. Stolen N4

On 11-7-12 some ass-h%#* stole my avic-n4,ipod touch,ashtray,2 wireless headphones,12" kicker cvr's in a sub-box,and a money order in the middle of the night. I personally believe it was my neighbors who i recently found out are big time theives. The other day I found about 4 sensor tags and a clear dvd security case on the street in front of their house. My husband is livid!!!!! He's been setting traps to see if they take the bait. Oh yeah, and no they didn't get the wires or brain, antennas,xm,hd radio, ipod cord, ipod adapter, amp, sirius, dvd changer,flip-down or headrest monitors!!
  18. i just received iphone 5 and with this new lighting cable , we arent able to acess video files from iphone even after 30 pin adapter is used. So i was wondering if anyone on this forum ever tried hooking up an apple tv to their navaigation unit? .. life would be much easier if that was possible..
  19. Is there any way to have video from an SD/USB card to play and be sent out through the video out source (basically to my headrest monitors).
  20. dual screens?

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/air-display/id368158927?mt=8 I was dreaming of having total ipad integration with my avic z140bt as a dual screen type thing. What if the avic ran navigation while the ipad did facebook/ ipod stuff and you had 2 screens going. Or having it as a real 2nd monitor and having the navigation and app radio mode apps pan over onto the ipad screen? just an idea also, here's a really cool way to mount an ipad into a tahoe dash. Just sayin'
  21. The new updates are released! http://www.navigation.com/pioneer/eu Now let's wait for the downloads
  22. Hi all, Just resurrecting an old project / gimmick I am working on. My goal is to integrate the phone into the car for all my needs like internet, music, maps, car monitoring, road monitoring, etc.. Content is at my blog to have a central sport for comments or questions: http://jonnazario.bl...arpc-setup.html
  23. I am trying to transfer my phonebook from my Verizon Droid Bionic to my Avic N4 and when i click the transfer phonebook button, the bluetooth disconnects and nothing happens. Nothing gets transferred. Reading the manual it says press the phonebook transfer button and then use your cell phone to transfer your contacts? So i have to do something in my cell phone for the contacts to transfer over?I figured out how to add numbers one by one, but i can't figure out how to add the name to it.
  24. My F700BT hates me

ok so here is the story i have read all about what to do for the f700bt but its not working when i go into test mode and copy the files it keeps telling me i dont have enough space and to delete files but i dont know what i can delete i hae tried copying the files 1 by 1 but it's not working im not a super genius when it comes to computers but i can figure out most things can somebody please help me with a step by step? i have already downloaded all the avic files i can find but i keep getting error maybe disk space is size full..... first i got a red screen at 46% (this is when i tried the updates) then switched versions then got to 61% with the error maybe disk space is sizefull then switched out my wince files manually cause i couldn't get into service mode and then tried the update again and got to 84% done with the same error and then i tried to do the backup overwrite but it tells me it cant do it cause i dont have enough space.... any and all ideas will be appreciated i bought the car with the stereo already installed.
  25. A few days ago I went to start my car and as usual my avid f700bt began to load up, except after the splash screen it turned itself off and stayed off. I've tried hitting the reset button a million times, but to no avail it won't load up. So then I tried to update and restore the software, but it only gets to a certain point before it freezes and a red screen comes up. Has anyone seen this or has any solutions to this problem? before this incident I've never had a problem with it. I must also note that i am now able to get to the settings screen, only system settings and when i hit that it says no version installed for both system and maps. Attached is a picture of the frozen red screen. Thanks in advance for all of your help!
